The young woman who greeted me was very nice. Unfortunately, she assigned a site that was too small and filled with sharp rocks. I had asked for a different site but was told it was closed for the winter. Since the office was closed by this time I parked in the site I wanted. The next morning I went to the office and requested a change to the site I was in. The young man couldn't cope with this until I said pretend I'm in the original site but mark the tag with the number I was in.
The site, no hookups, was advertised for $40. With the hidden charges--a booking fee and credit card fee- it was $45.50 plus tax.
The campground is haphazardly laid out, many sites are not level.

This is our second stay. Pull-in site #1. Used as base camp for a few days. Easy access for us. Walked through the campground and there is a small walking trail towards the back East section. Check in was easy. Didn’t use any facilities. Train noise in the distance and it is noticeable. Would stay again.

This RV park is not what you want. The spots are sloped and rutted, trees scrape your RV as you pull through, the connections are sub-par. The staff are very rude, and are difficult to deal with. This is not a place you want to stay, they obviously don’t value business. Keep driving down the road!

I'm a solo female traveler who recently purchased a teardrop trailer & wanted to test out various types of camping & master the hook ups/set up, etc. Booking & communication was seamless/transparent. The campground was spotless, incl the bathrooms, & the shower was hot w/ great water pressure. Wifi/ Verizon service excellent. My immediate reaction upon entering the campground was how close the big rigs were to eachother, & was grateful that #40 was towards the back. Everyone was respectful & quiet. There was some road noise but died down at night. Cute store at the entrance w/ great customer service. I had my propane firepit but wish they allowed wood fires. This location is great for proximity to Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Rte 66, etc.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the park was clean and a beautiful setting. Bathhouse was clean with hot showers and the laundry room was clean and well priced. However, it’s the most I’ve ever paid for a week of camping, especially considering the site available to fit my rig was only 20A with no water or sewer (there was water and a dump station available). There was a local event over the weekend that increased the nightly rate. If you need to be close to Flagstaff and don’t mind the expense, I’d absolutely recommend it as a nice place to stay.

We actually stayed at 4 different sites during our 3 week stay: 38, 1, 56 & 57. Site 1 was right by the dump site and pretty close to the road, that was our least fave, but still not a bad spot. 38 was a roundabout pull through site, very easy to navigate in and out of but it does sit right next to the bathrooms. Sites 56 & 57 are in the more secluded section in the back, those were our faves! Of note, 57 got all of the rain run off even from neighboring sites so the ground was very uneven in spots, which made for a bumpy in and out, but it was easier to navigate to through the many trees. Some of the spots can be a bit tricky to navigate to through all of the trees, so keep that in mind… Having spent our entire summer at numerous parks across the country we have found that we prefer those with more trees than those with none. We like the shade & feel that trees give! We will agree with other reviewers though that for the PRICE of this place it could use much more LEVEL and easier to access sites. (Oh, hubby would love to warn of their obnoxiously big speed bumps.)
We are full timers that do school & work so we must mention the WiFi & cell service. We paid for a bundle of the “upgraded” WiFi (20 mbps) and I think at best we got 14 mbps and constantly had connection issues. Cell service (Verizon) was pretty decent though, so we were able to hotspot often.

When we got to the site we found that it was 30 amp, but it was less than a foot off the ground. So There is no way to use the surge protector Also, there is no breaker so you couldn’t turn off the power to plug in.
There is no water at the site either since everything is turned off for the winter.
$62.06 is what they wanted. No.
Also, the envelope for site 11 already had a filled out form WITH A CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND 3 DIGIT CODE in it.
We went down the road.

I would not stay here again unless I got into another pickle where I had to make reservations last minute and there weren't any other options. The sites are jam packed next to each other and some are very difficult to get into with trees right in the way, even one of the employees mentioned that they should be taken down. I made the mistake of taking my fifth wheel around the outer loop (Canyon Ave). As soon as I started the turn down that road I regretted it, but since it is an expensive campground I went forward thinking it couldn't be all that bad even though there was a big wash out right through the road. I was wrong. It got worse. I starting spinning out coming up the hill, but once I put my F250 into 4 wheel drive I came out of it super easy. The one-way roads are tight too and confusing to navigate. I had site 38, which had a good amount of space for my truck to sit next to my 25' trailer. I liked that it was one of the more secluded sites. The road noise was pretty loud though. The bathrooms are remodeled and look really wonderful. I chose to use my own shower so I cannot speak to the hot water. I did use the laundry room and that was nice. There is a tiny little trail that goes into the woods, which might be .2 mile. It's a good little dog walk, but there were beautiful sunflowers and a little seating area that were nice. Still a lot of road noise though. It's conveniently located to town if that's what you are looking for. I was surprised to learn that there are a ton of Coconino Forest Campgrounds nearby. I will seek out one of those next time. All in all it was okay. I guess for me, if I am paying $58.85/night (including tax) then I would expect better upkeep of the roads and an easier time getting in and out.

“Terrible service, didn't honor reservation nor have they refunded or addressed this below issue”
noted 4/3/2023
Terrible service. On March 29th we booked a 4 day RV spot April 2 - April 6 for $300 via their website which said they would be reopening at the start of April. The reservation went through and our credit card was charged along with two confirmation emails saying that we were booked. They don't answer the phone, ever, so we tried to send an email to ask a few questions. On their website they suggest an email instead of a call with a note that says they will respond within 24 hours, yet they didn't respond at all that week. So, I sent a follow up email a week later as we were approaching the day we would be leaving. Around noon the following day we were on our way to their site and I received an email saying:
"Hello, Yes, we had to delay the opening of our campground due to weather conditions earlier this winter. Your reservation was canceled about a month ago, and the full amount was refined back onto your card. A cancellation email as well as an explanation of the cancellation was sent to the reservation email address at that time. I apologize if you did not see the email, and also for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please visit us again in the summer!"
Which is ABSURD because we didn't book it a month ago, nor did we receive such an email or a response OR a refund!!! I sent an email addressing this issue and they haven't responded. At this point we are just going to open a complaint with our credit card company. And after reading these other reviews about how unimpressive their actual site is and their services when they are open, I'm glad I'm not wasting anymore time with them. That said, it's pretty horrible to tell the person they are closed on the day of arrival. I highly recommend you find another spot to stay. Luckily the Grand Canyon Railway RV Resort had a last minute opening for us otherwise we wouldn't have anywhere to stay.
Thanks for a whole lot of nothing Woody, aside from a panic on where to go on our 5 hour drive to you.
