Winchester Bay RV Resort

They should adjust this RV park to 55+ only. We’ve been full-time RV traveling for a year and this has been a first for us. We were discriminated against for having children, since the moment we arrived our stay felt uncomfortable. Specifically by the “camp hosts” in spot #77, who are oddly positioned right in front of a park made for children. We’ve been respectful of the quiet hours, so a noise complaint in the middle of the day was not warranted. Noise that was nothing more than kids playing/laughing at a normal volume. We had to cut our short stay of 1 week a couple days early due to extremely grumpy staff. We chose to leave after our door was pounded on in the middle of the day (hard enough to give us a scare) by the camp host next door in an attempt to intimidate and bully us quiet because noise above silence was too loud for him. After bringing it to managements attention, it’s very clear that they choose to operate in a manner to accommodate untruthful, disgruntled and unreasonable ‘employees’ over paying guests. It’s unfortunate because the views of this RV park are stunning. For as beautiful as it is, their standards for employee living spaces are low, the clutter under and around their space is an eyesore.

Great location between the bay and the harbor. Access to sand dunes only minutes away.
Staff and camp hosts treat you like family.
Two small markets in town, and two bigger grocery stores in Reedsport (10 minute drive.)
Has a playground and a putting green.
One mile walking/biking path along perimeter of resort.
Plenty of space to maneuver big rigs into sites.
We travel in a 40’ fifth wheel and we’re in site 67.
We would absolutely stay here again!

We picked a back-in water front site and were rewarded with a couple of days with beautiful sunset colors. The other five days were cloudy, overcast, or rainy. That is to be expected this time of the year. I liked the location with the only draw back being a limited amount of restaurants in the nearby area. Should you hop on the highway north or south you will find plenty of options.
I enjoyed my late fall stay as there were no crowds.

Well maintained grounds, clean showers, very crowded all the time. We were surprised at how full it was well after Labor Day when we arrived. Lots of moving between sites for longer stays - they call it the “Winchester Shuffle”. People can book up to a 3 month stay a year in advance and spots are hard to come by most of the time. Quiet — unless you happen to be there on a Saturday and want to watch a movie or have lunch inside or watch your college football team in the Marine Activity Center, forget it! The CG hosts are instructed to put on the Ducks or Beavers game VERY LOUDLY, even if you are already there. They don’t kick you out explicitly, but unless you like someone else’s loud football & yelling/screaming ruining your conversation or game, you may as well throw in the towel and move on. This is the Marina policy per the CG front office.
