The RV park is one road with RV parking on both sides of the road. The road is also hiking trail for Ashville and and the trail seems to be a popular spot for the homeless. My wife, and the people in the coach we were traveling with would not stay there did not feel safe. Also they advertised Wifi that we needed for work. They said we have not had wifi for over 6 months but still advertise it. Not to mention Wilsons park is next to a down hill exit on I-40 and the semis use their engine brakes all night long. We both had a one week reservation only stayed and lost the rest of our money.

Now the good, close to Asheville and campsites were good. Did not use bath house. Camp host was good. The price was below the average.

Positive
1. Good location for river access and parks
2. Right off rt26
3. Decent price

Negative
1. Sites in poor shape
2. No one to check in with. They have a camp host however we never saw him after we arrived
3. Wifi did not work
4. Some sites along the kayak rental property line are trashy and not taken care of
5. A lot of highway noise during the night
There are some sites along the river that could be nice if they wacked down the 3ft tall weeds blocking the river view. I would consider staying in one of those sites next time going north but not the other site locations

Great location, tighter spots make for fast friendships with neighbors, clean bath house and good showers. Very convenient access to fantastic public parks. If rain’s in the forecast, pack some waterproof footwear, especially if your spot is on the river side - major pooling on corners of the pad and near the hook up points.

We stayed in site 25, which is very unlevel, but it was safe from flooding when the river swelled from some downpours. Several RVs on the river side of the park moved rather than sit in water several inches deep for a few days. Since the site is unlevel, we needed to back up very far just to try to level out as much as possible. This made our very long sewer hose not long enough to reach the sewer port, which is near the front of the site, but the park owner let us borrow a hose extension for free.
There was quite a bit of trash up against the fence in our site, but none was strewn about the site. The park staff comes by every day around 11:0 0AM to pick up any trash bags that you leave out, so that's convenient.
We got both our propane tanks filled here, and once we hooked them back up they didn't work. It turned out they had both been significantly overfilled to such a point that the pressure broke our propane regulator. So I had to bleed off a bunch of propane that I had paid for, as well as buy and install a new regulator. Unfortunately we figured all this out on a travel day where we had no electricity (after leaving this park), so we lost some of the food in our fridge due to the lack of propane.
The roads leading here are confusing and difficult to navigate with a trailer. There is no way to exit the freeway and then turn into the park, you have to drive down several side streets to turn around and come back. Once you're in a smaller vehicle, its proximity to Carrier Park and some of the hotspots of Asheville are very convenient.
Overall, I would stay here again but I would not choose site 25 and I would not fill my propane tanks without talking the person through it.

There are river activities within walking distance. Power, was fine but the water had a high chorine taste. There is also a bike path that goes right through the middle of the park.
As with most small towns, the local gas stations close for the night, so get supplies during the day.
No one picked up the phone and no one was there to check us in but we did not have any problems. Neighbors are friendly and do seem to have been here for a while.
It is close to the highway so there is a bit of road noise to be aware of.
Overall, it worked for us and we might check out other places.

This whole campground is odd. As others have mentioned, it's difficult to get into the entrance - requiring you to drive by and turn around down the street, it's difficult to get anyone to pick up the phone at the front office - we actually had a friend of ours physically go down to the campground and talk to the camp host to secure us a spot since no one would answer the phone, there are random people running and biking on the bike path that runs straight through the middle of the campground all day... It's just odd.
Our site was OK, but had very low water pressure. There are a number of RVs in the park that look like they've been there for 20 years, but everyone was friendly enough. The campground is right next to the highway, so there is definitely road noise, but nothing horrendous.
On the good side, it is very conveniently located in Asheville and located right on the river and next to several parks. So, if you're trying to explore the town and you want to be close in and you want to have access to a nice bike path, it's worth making the effort to get a spot here. Hopefully, you can get in touch with the camp host who is pretty helpful and very friendly. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a quiet, more relaxing experience, and you don't mind being outside the city, there are several other nice campgrounds in the area.
If and when we return to Asheville, we'll probably check out one of the other options.
