“WATER SOURCE, no dump!”
Reviewed Oct 23, 2018
We stopped here on our way to Klamath Falls, OR. It was the end of October 2018. Findings:
there were two water faucets with no indication if this was potable water or not. We tasted it and it tasted very good - and we aren't dead yet (or sick), so there is that. They may turn that water off at some point in the winter or fall, because this is high elevation and it might freeze.
sites were "first come, first serve". When we went through, there was nobody there.
paved sites are all nicely leveled; in fact it's a very nice campground with lots of shady trees and a little hiking trail by a stream.
there is a day use area with picnic tables and a pit toilet by the highway, and you will hear highway noise at the campground, but we suspect that the traffic is light at night in these areas.
no dumpstation and no running water in the pit toilet, just the two outside faucets for the entire campground.
although there were trash cans, there was a bit of trash left by the campers at individual sites (mostly in the fire pits). There were also camping fee receipts hanging of individuals posts, some of them over a month old! So that told us that few people camp here and few people maintain it! Still a nice campground!
absolutely no At&T cell/data/voice coverage here or many miles in any direction, which is expected.
