We needed to stay a few nights on the west side of the park, and our camper is 37' so we couldn't fit in the national park campgrounds. A word of caution, be sure to double check your GPS because we originally put in Willow Creek and ended up in a pay campground about 20 minutes away that was pretty tight, and hard for us to get through. It was filled too. Once we got to the correct location, there was already a camper in the spot right on the river. He was super friendly and welcomed us. So we took the spot to his left. It took quite a bit for us to get our longer travel trailer level, so be sure to have plenty of spacers for under your front jacks, and some serious wheel chocks. Despite being relatively close to the road, it isn't a main road, so there is very little traffic noise even sleeping with the windows open. Ohh, and be careful with that because even in late August, we saw a temp of 31 degrees outside in the morning!!
The spot by the river would be ideal, but it is a bit narrow. You could probably squeeze in if you only had a slide on one side, but we have slides on both sides, and we would not have fit. There was a decent bit of small trash and cigarette butts that we cleaned up when we left, but please keep the area clean!

After going through every campground Labor Day weekend we finally got directed to this gem. It’s dispersed camping so first come first serve. The sites were spread out. Some are a little rocky to get to but there’s plenty of others accessible to all sorts of vehicles.

“Campgrounds closed!”

If you saw my review for Pioneer Park we decided to come here after finding out the campgrounds were closed there. Whelp! The dispersed camping here is closed as well it seems to be due to the fire damage. There is a sign that we saw with some info from BLM. See picture. It seems like all the dispersed camping is closed in the area? In... more

“Closed”

This campground and others in this forest are closed right now. Seems there was fires then flooding in the area so not accessible.
I gave it 4 stars simply because it’s a beautiful setting but right off highway.

This is not a campground at all. Its merely a pull off next to the creek. Does not get plowed in winter so no access. Gets very muddy if it rains. Now surrounded by burn scar from the Williams Fork fire last year
