Do we need a reservations or is this first-come, first-served?

As of 5/22/2024 reservations are needed, and the Camping fee is $25.00 a night.

No, FCFS. The west area has picnic tables and gravel pads and a couple vault toilets, no water. The dispersed camping is just wherever you want, but better views, more wind. The campground on the east side of the lake tends to stay full. This was in June 2021, though. Close to good fishing on the Colorado River.

I'm friends with the caretaker of William's Fork Reservoir and as of 2022 there were no reservations or cost. They've been trying for a couple of years to setup a camphost and pay system but have had several issues. The company they're bringing in will most likely be the same management company who ran Antero Reservoir last summer. In the meantime, there's no information on the website that says there will be any changes at this time. Get there during the week for the best experience. It is a gorgeous place to go.

No reservations or fees for 2023 BUT there will be a camp host this year Denver water will be initiating a fee and reservation system starting in 2024

It's first-come, first-serve. The North side also has some great spots.
