Arrived at turn for Roxie Peconom CG and Willard Creek dispersed at about 1 pm. May 15th. Unloaded bike to scout road to make sure we could get 21ft camper and TV turned around should we decide no on location. About 1 mile from hiway we took a spot with two turn in's just after the road forked. Good level spot, creek about feet 150 away. 60 ft tall conifers around but still a good open sun for our solar panels.
. It's dry and firm and our 2wd maneuvered just fine as we positioned the camper. Stayed 3 nights but it could be used several days as long as dry weather held out. Just the wind through trees as noise, no highway sounds. 80° temp, some flies about, clean campsite with large stone fire ring. Rode about 1 mile or more.
At about 1 &1/4 mile in there is a good spot off the road and closed to creek but without 4wd, don't think it would be wise. Pretty rough and high clearance for a trailer would be needed. Looked like a good level place others than rough turn in.

While this might have been a decent site before they sold/leased off land to timber company and started doing roadwork in the FS road, it is currently very noisy, no privacy and no views. I did get one bar of ATT. There are other sites further up the FS road that might be better than this staging area but we are limited as we are in a 36’ class A with a toad
