This is the second time we've stayed at this campground and it did not disappoint. We tried a different waterfront spot this time, #23. While it didn't have the expansive open water view, it still was waterfront and it was much more private than the other spot we previously stayed at, #14. Bath house is still under construction, but they have moved in a large portable toilet unit that has about 4 toilets for each group. Our site was level (only used one leveling block) and wide enough to put a boat if you had one. Nice trails for hiking. Many large fishing tournaments launch out of this park at this time of year, so if you don't like that noise early on a Saturday morning, then bring ear plugs. But, we love watching that and watching weigh-ins, so it didn't bother us at all. Again, only complaint is that the fire pits aren't cleaned out between campers.

Great campground if you love the water and/or also have a boat for fishing. Area 1 has many waterfront spots and most of them are pretty level. We backed in and were level as soon as we disconnected...WIN!! We think the best waterfront spots are 11 and 14. Spot 23 is also waterfront but farther back in a cove and may not be waterfront if the lake isn't at full pool, but 23 is right across from the shower/bath house. Note: The shower/bath house for Area 1 is closed through March for upgrades and you'd need to drive to one of the other areas to use that amenity. There are no sewer or cable hookups. However, there is a nice new 3-lane dump station on the way out and even on a holiday weekend w/ a full park, it wasn't crowded when we left at 10am. We don't have a satellite, but Verizon reception was good enough that we could watch news and football games with our computer hooked to the TV, so there is a workaround. Even though the park was 95% full, everyone was respectful and not noisy, so there were no issues. The only con we found was that firepits weren't cleaned out between campers....ours had some semi-burned logs and lots of cigarette butts. Judy, host for Area 1, is wonderful :)

There are some primitive sites you can drive your vehicle right on. Primitive sites have no water or electric. They do have picnic table and fire ringsSome you have to hike your things in. We found the perfect spot, parked the van right on the water's edge and enjoyed a quiet peaceful night. There are toilets relatively close but no showers.

A lot of folks left on Monday so it quieted down a bit although boat traffic was still steady. Very popular spot for boats given the amazing boat ramp. We brought our mountain bike and hits the trails ( about 16 miles total) and after getting turned around a few times while ending up on the frisbee golf course we did find the Bartram trail which is a great mountain bike/ hiking trail that takes you all around the lake. However the trails haven’t been maintained in quite some time so there was a lot of dead trees we had to climb over with the bikes. We finally called it quits about 6 miles in but would love to come back when they are fully cleared.
We also took out kayak out on the lake and found a ton of cool coves to hang out. Lake access right from the site.
Weather was perfect, cooler with low humidity and a nice breeze, a welcome respite from Tallahassee.
We didn’t have time to hit the Disk Gold Hall of Fame but heard it’s pretty cool. Bathrooms were meh but that is the beauty of an RV, we have our own facilities. We will certainly be back again.
WiFi coverage wasn’t great but with our MoFi device we were able to stream Netfilx later in the evening.

We love Wildwood Park! We stay here at least 5 or 6 times a year (2020 notwithstanding). We stay on sites, 7, 8 and 11 generally. Loop one has water access at most sites on the outside of the loop. Sites 25 and down to about 6 or so.
Great place!

Many of the sites are directly on the water so you could launch a canoe or kayak directly from your campsite but if you have a power boat there is a huge, very modern launch area. There are many amenities such as a frisbee golf course, many hiking trails, playgrounds. This is a county park with easy checkin. When I arrived in February it was practically empty. I was only planning to stay overnight but it was such a lovely spot that I kept extending my stay. It’s also close to town with Walmart and other stores. It is easy to get to — right off of Interstate 20.
