The park is smaller with a few electric sites. Some of the electric sites would only fit small campers. We had enough room for our 30’ camper but had to park the truck on an angle to fit. The sites are more open but there is space between them. The fire pit is a bit further away but I liked it like that. Nice hiking with some observation points that were beautiful. Bathrooms were clean. We went kayaking on the Kickapoo River. I would highly recommend. We will be going back. Stopped at an Amish bakery, OMG the fry pies were delicious!!

I cannot believe I have lived in WI as long as I have without visiting Wildcat Mountain. Of course I came past prime on the fall leaf season, but even still it was gorgeous with great views from many campgrounds. I walked the dogs along with party where there are tent sites and those sites were the best tent sites that I have ever seen in WI. The views reminded me of Vermont. I was struck by the variety of hiking trails that were stunning. I’m so glad that I visited. Each site had a picnic table and a bench by the fire pit - nice touch.

This campground is not set up for RVs even though some sites have electricity. Our site seemed like a picnic spot with no shade, no privacy, and a fire pit 20 yards away.

I was in the group camp area C with an outdoor activity group of about 45. We shared group camp area B and C.
The state is keeping the Wildcat Mountain state park in good condition, with clean restrooms and latrines. The day use area was also well kept.
The Family campground is relatively wide open , with ample shade along the side of the very spacious sites.
There are several hiking trails in the park, canoeing on the Kickapoo river (with several outfitters in town 3 miles away) and the first rail to trail conversion in Wisconson, the Sparta-Elroy bike trail, within 20 minutes.
For those interested in Astronomy, the skies over this park are very dark, for the midwest.
