The sites are gravel and pull through with full hookups. The highway noise and train noise is a bit much. It’s a good option for a night stop just stock up on groceries. There is one small store a mile down the road and a dollar general in the same direction. We stayed here back in 2018 and the town had more options but things change.

Matt at the front desk was wonderful. We just needed an overnight & this was perfect. Easy access from I-10. Best shower ever! Clean bathroom & laundry facilities. Dog area was well maintained. Noise was not an issue at all.

Ok for an overnight, if you don't mind the train horns blowing loudly every couple of hours. Gravel sites were pull through and level. The wifi was a hair above unusable. Most of the cable channels either didn't come in, or were unwatchable. Cell signal was on the low side. Showers were good and hot and clean.

It’s a large parking lot essentially. Easy in easy out for a one night stop. Check in and arrival was smooth. There’s a train and plenty of truck noise from main route through town. There’s also no good place to walk dogs. The dog park was about 8’x10’. Would probably stay at Mountain View if we stop here next time because it looked a bit nicer, further from the train tracks, larger park to walk around a bit further.

That’s it. I mean it’s not good, it’s not bad. Stopped for a night. It’s not a „nice place“ so no view or whatever, but the price was ok and really good water pressure and really hot and cold water. Most showers are not that good. So hey for a night for 35 Dollars that worked for us.

This cannot be anyone’s favorite campground. It’s not in an alpine meadow, it doesn’t have a view of towering snow capped mountains, nor does it sit next to a beautiful lake. If you had any of that, you’d be far from west Texas. But this is west Texas and with that fundamental, you couldn’t find a better place to stay when you’re in this area. This place is clean. It’s very well maintained. It has rock solid internet and perfectly level gravel sites to camp on. The bathrooms are clean and modern. Showers had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The campground staff were friendly and efficient. The worst I had was that the light/exhaust fan switches in the men’s room were in bewildering locations. In addition, my campsite did not include a picnic table. Other than that I had zero complaints. I slept great despite the fact that the campground is located between interstate 10 and an active rail line.

Typical campground for this part of the country, as already reported. Bathrooms are excellent and look recently renovated. Great water pressure. Very good free wifi, which we have found is not typical at all. Excellent spot to stay between here and there.

Easy to locate and navigate through to sites, which are level, packed dirt. Good Wi-Fi, did not partake of any other amenities. Goat-head spurs throughout the park, but very nice and spur-free dog run. We would not mind staying here for an overnight in the future.

Easy access from I-10. Not much around Van Horn, park is a hard dirt lot. Some road and train noise. Train whistles every hour all night.
We hiked at Prehistoric Pathways Nat Monument, well worth the drive.
Park wifi was excellent. AT&T cell service was good.
