The road is busier than one would think for this rural location, but it did die down some after dark. No problems here feeling safe. A good option if one needs a place for an overnight in this area.

It's basically a large pullout of the road. My neighbors walked down to the lake but it's currently dry. They didn't think it has had water for some time. But, it's free and cuts your drive to Chiricahua by about 1/3rd in case the campground is full. It's clean but has some road noise.

There isn’t much more to say than what the other reviews tell you. But we were surprised that, over 5 days, not many people used the spot. We felt safe to leave our rig while exploring the area. Very close to the road, so there is some road noise but that doesn’t bother us.

Easy to get to off I-10, had no issues pulling into the dirt lot in my 25 foot motorhome. Good cell reception, 3 other vehicles in the lot with me.

Was great for a stop over but nothing fancy. Not room for many spots but it was very quiet and we felt safe.

It is just a gravel spot right of the road, mainly meant for parking your car and hike to the playa to see cranes. We were too early for the birds migration.
However the 2-lane road is quite busy it did not care us. During daytime we were hiking the beautiful Chiricahua (wonders of rocks) and at night there were only a few cars passing.
The spot it self is large enough to accommodate several big rigs.

The camping area is actually the dirt parking lot for the Arizona Wilcox Playa Wildlife area. The area is approximately 100ft square - there are no designated sites. The lot will be quite muddy after a rain.
Would not recommend tent camping here.
The lot is next to a somewhat busy 2-lane road. There is also an irrigation pump at one end of the parking lot which is noisy when it is running.
Overall this is as basic as it gets. The Wildlife area has a 2.4 mile trail around the playa - there is not much else to say.
This spot is ok for a quick overnight stop, but that's about it.
AT&T, Verizon, and TMobile all have good signal.
