We arrived around 8pm, someone was there to give us instructions. Our campsite was great. Because checkout was 1pm, we were able to do a short hike (Salt Mountain trail) and rewarded with an amazing views in the morning, and a chance to do our laundry before checking out next day. We were surprised there was a laundry facility in a provincial park. Even though washing machines and dryers were old but worked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I do not have small change for laundry and one worker went out his way to get me some change. We really enjoyed this provincial park.

Arrived just two days before hurricane Fiona i. Sept 2022 for one night after getting off the ferry from Newfoundland. The entire campground appeared to be deserted. It was dark when we arrived and we just parked, ate dinner, went to bed, then left by 6 a.m. the next morning to get out of Nova Scotia before the storm.
Didn't have a chance to check anything out while there. The check in station person was friendly.
Road getting back to the park was in bad shape.
Our site #9 was in a small loop, no privacy at all between sites on that loop. Water and electric. Mosquitos.

No one was at the front office when we arrived. We needed to know our campsite #, as we had not received the booking email yet. We had to call the provincial park office, and they were helpful. We had site 24, which is in a big open grassy field. There was no privacy, but the site next to us was empty. Our site was not very level, so we had to spend a bit of time backing in to different areas of our site to get our trailer leveled. We did not use the wash house so I can’t comment on that. The water spigot near our site was strange. You couldn’t screw a hose onto it, and you had to hold the spigot handle constantly to keep the water on. We had hoped to fill fresh water here. We will check other water sites on the campground to see if there is a better one.

Some sites with services but we were on a grassy hillside with no services and pit toilets. There was a single bathhouse with flush toilets, showers and laundry. Campground was convenient to Bras D’Or and Cape Breton.
