Were you able to take 89 all the way to the campground? We're seeing signs that refer to a 40 foot limit.

We loved this spot! Quite the find so close to the cute town of Prescott. I like campsites where you can have space from others and it feels like the wilderness. All sites were nicely landscaped with space from others in a lovely forest setting. Each site had its own fire pit & grill and table. There were nice walks through the forest. Pit toilets, ok but not great AT&T reception. Will definitely go again! And the lake in Prescott is amazing with stunning rocks, that is worth an explore.
The only negatives - people camping with loud generators that they run all day and night. I have lived off-the-grid most of my life and I have no idea why anyone needs to run a generator constantly. I could power a whole house & appliances with only a few hours a day. If you have to have a generator camping, spend the money and get a Honda 2200, they are super quiet and portable. So have a listen when you get there, just in case there is an industrial camper behind the next tree!
The only other bummer was when the forest service guy turned up in the morning. He appeared friendly but was looking for something to vent his authority on. We are excellent campers so I was not concerned but then he suddenly got testy and rudely told me not to burn the small pile of paper scraps we had in the fire pit as that meant extra work for him moving the ash. He then stalked off. Huh?!?! Yeah, it was weird. We were pretty annoyed. Young gov workers on awesome paychecks with great benefits bothering other hardworking taxpayers on their brief vacations off with stupid demands. The gov really can't mind it's own business can it? Even when you are not doing anything wrong...
But anyway, idiots aside, it is a great spot, with that feel good wilderness vibe. Loved it!

If your a big rig take one of the first few sites. Its pretty tight through the rest of the campground. Not much traffic or many other campers when we stayed in January. Not to far from down town and right next to mountain bike and hiking trails.
Verizon coverage was poor

This is nice campground close to Prescott. Sites are a bit close together, and some don’t really have any privacy from neighbors. Pit toilets throughout, drinking water available in season at pumps scattered throughout campground. The majority of the campground is closed after Nov. 1, and no water is available after that date. Great hiking and biking trails through Prescott NF. Saw javelina, tarantulas, coyote, multiple species of birds and woodpeckers. Strategically located nice basic campground for $7 with interagency pass, $14 without. No hookups, 2 bars AT&T without booster. Bathrooms often overflowing with TP, garbage scattered all over during busy weekends/holidays. People often hike with dogs off lead and a lot of dog poop noted in campground and along trails. A little bit of road noise from 89A, which dies down at night.
The problem here is the camp host who has literally harassed me every time I’ve stayed here. She knocked on my door at 9am on a Sunday to tell me I had to be out by noon. Every single time I’ve stayed (camped here off and on winter 2019 and 2020), she has intimated that I’m past my 14 day limit, and “Weren’t you just here?” First, I’m literate and can read the signs, rules and regulations. Second, don’t come knocking on my door at 9am to tell me I need to be out by noon! She seems to really focus on camper-van and truck campers, because others I’ve talked to have the same complaints. They really need to find a more hospitable host.

Loved this park for the night. Great spot in #18. Pull through and level. Quiet and friendly. Camp host present keeping the sites clean. Restrooms depending on the time of year. Water access but no sites with any hookups. Boondocking. Close to grocery store and some shops. Hiking at the entry. Would stay again. Ok cell coverage.

This CG went on the reservation system in 2019 and while it's sometimes harder to book a site, it has changed for the better. There are now hosts onsite and the CG is always clean. No hookups or dumpstation available, but there is potable water and vault restrooms. Half of the campground has been updated at some point with asphalt drives, tent pads, fire circles and picnic tables while the other half is more rustic. All sites have beautiful Ponderosa Pine trees surrounding them.

Campground/Campsite: No hookups, water in park, pit toilets, dumpsters. This campground is not entirely big-rig friendly. We used satellite computer mapping when reserving our space, and we were very happy in full sun for our solar. It appeared that our site #6 was the only one with full sun as well as being the only pull-thru. On Nov. 1, all but the area we were in closed for the year. All campsites were reserved during our stay, but a big cold snap kept everyone from showing up, so be advised that late October appears to be an otherwise busy time. Camp hosts are onsite. There are several trails with easy access from the park offering a wide variety of distances.
Location: This campground is mere minutes -- and a straight shot -- from charming downtown Prescott, where you can find all the amenities you need as well as miles of lovely walking and biking trails. It is close to the main road, so there will be some road noise, mostly during the day.
Other: OATV, Verizon cell service was often 4G/LTE 2 bars, but would sometimes drop to 3G service
Critters spotted: tarantulas, Juncos, Acorn Woodpeckers (everywhere! trees riddled with their stored food!)

The campground was clean and the areas were well maintained. Each has a concrete picnic table and campfire ring. Lots of spots to choose from but since it was our first time we only could tell from the pictures on the web what each site looked like. We got lucky with site 5. There are several pull through site and we will definitely be back to stay in site 4, site 32 & 33, and a couple others! Many are not completely flat but all on asphalt.
It's about 3 miles to downtown Prescott where there is supposedly a festival in the courthouse park every weekend. Lots of great little local shops and if you like to eat out for breakfast definitely check out the Lone Star Cafe. If you are looking for breweries or meaderies definitely check out Granite Mountain Brewing and Superstition Meadery. Both great atmosphere and great unique drinks.
Affinity RV is your place for repairs. Good people and super helpful. They have a dump station for free there.
If you forgot something there is a full town on the other side of the hill in Prescott Valley with a Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.
This place has a little of everything!
