Huge paved area right off the highway with clean vault bathrooms. Great view of the mountains even from there but perfect place to stay while exploring nearby trails/lakes. Very dark, decent service and little noise.

Cell signal is so so, better with ATT or a tall booster.
Starlink is fantastic here.
Summer this place has great views and is cool.
Gets decent traffic for tourists during the day.

We stayed here for several nights exploring the various area hikes. It is just a big paved lot with a slope. We could level out though. No parking permit needed May thru October. Had great T-Mobile coverage with our antenna (even without the boost). There is a vault toilet if needed and trash cans

Tons of places to park with steady traffic in and out, I stayed in summer and taking dips in the mountain run off was awesome! Come early in the week for the best spots, as some are un-level for a big rig. Felt very safe, everyone was just trying to soak in the views. It’s easy to fall in love with the town.

Snow Bunny internet wasn’t amazing but for sure better and more reliable.

Initially planned to just stay here a night or two, but ended up being here 5 days because its such a nice area. Its just a parking lot, but a very large area with more than enough space for everyone. The whole area is pretty sloped, so be aware you'll have to put some extra effort in to get level if you want it perfect - also is in a flash flood zone so just be aware of the weather.
Easily the largest of any of the sno-park areas, and certainly has the best view of Mt. Hood by far - really cool to see the groomers operating on the mountain at night in the middle of summer. Right near the white river, which is a simple walk from the parking lot. Some noise from the highway, but nothing bad.
Vault toilets provided, no trash service. Cell signal is iffy - I was able to work during the day and conduct video calls but it was on the edge of acceptable and I used a cell booster to make Verizon more reliable. Seems like maybe service was better towards the top of the lot closer to the mountain. 5-7mbps down, .5-1mbps up on Verizon, T-Mobile/Sprint was unusable for me even with booster. Verizon speeds fluctuated greatly with traffic - mostly just after 5pm or so.
I grabbed water from one of the area campgrounds, and also threw trash out there - went between the check-in/check-out times so it was quiet and no one seemed to mind (no front gates or anything, just a couple rangers cleaning the sites). There's a free municipal dump station in Hood River OR about 30-40 minutes north thats very clean, there may be better/closer options but I was headed that way anyway so it worked for me. Very few services in this area so get groceries ahead of time.

Although the road was closed to further off roading, it was easy to get a place next to the creek that had a camp fire and flat land for a roof tent. Closed in bathroom near by. Stunning views and ample room for the 5 groups around us. Couldn’t hear them if we tried. Highly suggest.

We were originally going to stay two nights but the winds were so intense that we had to bring in all our pop-out slides for the night. The wind was loud all night, and the wind chill was no joke. 17 degrees felt like 6 degrees at 8 am.
We would definitely stay here again just not at the end of October.

I came in late, and didn't realize how close I was to Mt. Hood until I woke up! Other than the views and 4000' elevation, this is just an extra-large forest service parking lot. No utilities, no potable water, and a passable pit toilet. Sufficient AT&T LTE. There were two other RVs, plenty of space to spread out and call your own for the night or weekend. You can see and hear the road, but there was very little traffic.
THERE IS NO GATE at the main entrance to the Sno-Park parking lot/camping area. There IS a dirt road at the back of the parking lot. To the right is gravel camping along the river. To the left is the power utility's access road, which has a locked gate. There is absolutely no gate or signage preventing access, camping or overnight stays. There were several stone fire pits built around the perimeter of the parking lot. The parking lot is mostly built on a slope, so if you need a level pad, I recommend arriving before dark.
