“Absolutely beautiful... mountain lion activity ”

I stopped for the night at the campsite on the right hand side after you crest the hill from the Green River side. It’s on the cliff edge overlooking a beautiful vista and the town below. The view was absolutely amazing. However, I didn’t end up staying for the night. I took my dog for a walk down the side dirt path from the site, and we had barely made it out of the site itself before I started seeing mountain lion scat and prints. I’m not exaggerating when I say they were everywhere. No telling how old they are (they weren’t super fresh) but it was enough to make me decide to camp elsewhere for the night.

We did not experience the high winds that some others have written about. We had expansive views of the mountains and had fun watching the trains running in the valley and the lights of Green River at night. We saw the wild horses as we were leaving. The road isn't perfect but we've been on lots worse looking for dispersed camping!

Disbursed private camping. Plenty of parking area. Roads are oiled dirt so a bit bumpy, but no dust.
Could hear faint freeway sounds and railroad. Well maintained.
Sunset and sunrise were beautiful. Full Verizon cell service. We would definitely come back if we are here again.

We stayed here for the night. It was easy to find, easy to get to. Right off the freeway but the noise was faint. The views are just incredible!

We were in a Tacoma truck sleeping. Too windy for a tent. The wild horses paid us a visit at 2 am. Once they heard us inside they came closer. One tried to chew on the cap window knob. We had to scare them away. They left us alone after this.

A great boondocking spot. Easy access from I-80. The road is gravel but someone keeps it watered so that there is very little it any dust. We had no wind while there. We actually stayed 1 night after leaving The Grand Tetons and then left to visit The Flaming Gorge area and returned for another night before leaving that area.

We stayed here. Not a lot of sites. Most all of them are at the beginning of the road on top of the hill about 2 or 3 miles out of town. We got caught in a terrible wind storm there and had to leave. we did locate the wild horse herd at a drive on a dirt road to Pilot butte.

No hiking trails.
No view. Shitty town.
There's shopping and a planet fitness so use this as a supply stop on your way to Idaho or literally anywhere else.
Internet....upload speeds for verizon and Att were over 50 mbps but download was under 1. Crap.
I drove to Idaho the next morning. This area is what sadness is made of.

This is a gorgeous spot! We only stayed one night because the forecast was calling for wind. It's already windy and with a forecast for wind being worse, we left. In addition to this being a beautiful location, we went down to Green River and spent the day. We love mountain biking and Green River has done an unbelievable job building a trail system. They also have a bike park for kids and a paved path that runs along the river. We had a great day there. Loved this town!!

My husband and I are vanlifers and we stayed here for 2 nights. We saw wild horses, a bearded dragon, antelope, and a rattle snake. We highly recommend this place, it’s beautiful and the road isn’t too bad to drive on. It was windy but not too bad.
