No campground host was visibly present when we stayed in June 2023, but pit toilets were cleaned and maintained well. The road back is 5 miles of gravel, but seems to be very well maintained. I suggest the southern most road off the highway for the smoother drive. It is well worth the drive back for the beautiful views. We loved our site 26 right up against the lake. Required some leveling blocks, but that is ok with us. The site was double wide, so plenty of room to park the truck in front of or next to our 25ft Airstream. Perfect campground for solar and Starlink had the best speeds we’ve seen. Generators are allowed. We saw a single water pump by the main pit toilets. Dumpster also. Site 28 next to us appeared to be a little more level and equally good views. Site 24 and 25 had nice lake access but looked a little tight and single wide. If you fish there is a boat ramp in the campground and you can fish right from most of the lakefront spots. Loved our stay! Will be back.

Our site was level and had a little trail to the water. Our dogs loved the lake and we loved the view. There is rig parking near the boat ramp parking bathrooms with a water spicket for filling up.
I booked this site on line a few hours before we arrived. Our hotspot had plenty of signal for streaming and the folks next to us had good starlink signal.

This was a very well maintained campground. We visited in July 2022 with our two young kids and dog. The water was beautiful and our site was right along the water so the kids and dog very much enjoyed swimming. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. The bathrooms were kept very clean and there were dumpsters all around for trash. There also was a pavilion with plenty of tables and a water fountain/pump available. I only gave our time there 4/5 stars not for anything that was their fault but if you don’t have a boat there was really nothing to do there so if sitting and relaxing is your thing while camping then it’s is beautiful and perfect for that. We like to hike/walk around and there wasn’t anywhere to do that. Also no shade so bring lots of sunscreen and bug spray. We got eaten alive by the mosquitoes. Very nice place.

So glad that we found this campground! Site 26 backed right onto the lake.
The 5 mile gravel road was totally worth it! The gravel road was very smooth

I really enjoyed this campground. However, I had a waterfront site. Not sure the 6 miles of washboard gravel road would be worth it otherwise. The campground host, Mel, is a superstar and it excellent. Greeted me when I got there and checked in periodically. This is a remote location so stock up on ice, etc. before you come.

Plenty of sun and no shade or wind protection—but that’s beach camping! Super clean restrooms and a no BS host. Well worth the washboard drive in! Very quiet campsites, surrounded by a rolling farm, the lake and distant mountains. Book on recreation.gov

We parked on the cliff overlooking the lake, there is a path down to the lake. It can get buggy at times but for most of our stay their was a solid breeze to keep them at bay. Clean vault toilets and great cell service.

The beautiful view made up for the 5 mile drive down a gravel, washboard road to the park. Very level site and I think it was the best site in the park.
