We pulled in and saw all red reservation signs on all sites and then we looked closer and found out that. There were openings and you have to call recreation.gov for the site. We did and it was easy, we used our access pass and brought it down to $5.00 a night. No hook ups but they have water, we drove 5 miles to the koa and used there dump station for $5.00.
After you're done camping and need to clean your rig, drive into Helena and right next to Walmart there's a carwash that has a 15ft cleance. Oil change go to Pit Stop Oil Change, it's a veteran run business $40 before Walmart. That's enough enjoy and safe travels.

This is a great campground in a peaceful area. The gravel road to access the campground is the nicest gravel road we’ve ever seen. We had no issues with our 42’ fifth wheel. A previous reviewer stated that this campground was free due to COVID. The campground is totally open now and staffed so fees are in place. All of the reservations and payment go thru recreation.gov and are available to make same day. Regular sites are $10 a night and double sites are $20 a night, no hook ups. The cell signal is much better in the North portion of the campground (Verizon). Out of what was available when we arrived we loved site 4 due to its seclusion and view of the lake. We needed our Weboost to be able to work easily. We also drove by the Silos Camoground and this is MUCH nicer and also less expensive.

Great stopover between Bozeman and Glacier NP. We did not have a reservation and found it only half full. A bit of a drive on a gravel road but really worth it to be down in this pretty valley right by the lake. Because of COVID, MT is forgoing the fee. We’re using our RV restroom, but the bathrooms appear open. Fire pits appear new. Concrete picnic tables in great shape. Very open without trees, like the landscape in this valley. Clean rocky beach. Campers are cleaning up well; the place is pristine. There is is a dumpster for each of two camping rings, though it was not publicized. Some ADA spaces near ADA restroom. The only noise is from the wind, the waves, and the gulls.

As long as the site is not reserved, you can camp there until it is. We paid daily via envelope, as there is an $8 online booking fee. We were there Monday - Wednesday nights, and had maybe 6 other campers come through over that time. It is much busier on the weekends, as there s a boat ramp here.
Our site backed up right to the water, and was beautiful! There are many birds in the area, including some 2day old killdeer chicks, which are insanely cute to watch run after their parents. Insect pressure was not bad at all.
The road in was easy, though a bit washboarded in places. More so on incoming side of road than exiting.
Camp hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about local wildlife. Vault toilets clean and well stocked.

Super beautiful lake, nicely graveled sites, the bathrooms are clean, there looks to be a fresh water spigot (haven’t tested it yet).
If cell service is important, head past the first set of bathrooms (buildings 2 & 3) and continue towards the other set of campsites (starting with 14). Once you’re over on that side cell service can clear the hill. Both my partner and I got super fast service with full bars (ATT & Verizon respectively).

We easily traveled into Helena to explore the historic district and their breweries and Archie Bray Foundation is a fun treasure hunt with pottery and ceramic art scattered all over the grounds.

We stayed here during the week. There were only two other campers, and we loved it! Our dog could play in the water, and the weather was perfect.

This campground is easy to access and is very picturesque. Stayed here at end of July and the mosquitoes in the evening were almost unbearable. However, a few hours after sunset then they are not so bad. Camphost is very nice and kept the bathrooms clean. The sites are gravel and fairly level. Not much shade in site 4 but excellent view of the water. Very busy, noisy on weekends but blissful during the week. Seems as if all sites can accommodate even large class A, so no real size restriction. There is a boat launch and good amount of visitor parking for non campers.

White Earth is FANTASTIC!! Absolutely silent at night, breeze over the water, dark sky. Couldn’t be more tickled!! Most sites are level, a few pull thrus (maybe 4), some newly planted saplings to improve shade for the future.
Only downfall is mosquitos. I’ve never experienced such aggressive mosquitos at dusk. But if you’re a quick mover, or in a self-contained camper, this is not a real concern.
Also, a 6 mile gravel road is well maintained and well graded and there are no low hanging branches or bridges. Finally BLISTERING FAST cell service!
This place is a gem 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
