“Great camping location with lots of trees and lakes”

Whitcomb Creek Park located just outside of Sweet Home, Oregon is a large campground with spacious sites. Most of the A Loop sites have long paved areas with fire pits and picnic tables concreted into place. The B loop has more graveled sites. C loop has a mixture of gravel and paved. There is only one water source at the campground located by the check in area, close to site 5B. There are numerous trash disposal spots scattered throughout the campground. The many vault toilets are checked and cleaned daily, but like with most of these types of toilets the smell and bugs are present. The campground road is nicely paved for fun bike riding and scootering, but there are some steep hills. There is a trail that leads from the C loop to the boat ramp, but is in need of some maintenance, so beware of downed trees and overgrown shrubbery. While we were there the water level for Green Peter Reservoir was very low making it difficult to launch our kayaks. Luckily nearby Foster Reservoir had free parking and an easy launch at the Sunnyside Park campground.
