We stayed at Whispering Hills for 4 nights while attending a horse competition at Kentucky Horse Park, only 18 minutes away. Yes - it’s an RV park and it was completely full the Saturday night of our stay. So many amenities (that we didn’t use but would suit families) - pool, playground, laundry, lake for kids fishing, weekend fall festival with chili cook off, live bands, costume contest. Obviously, some sites are full timers. The staff go all out to make it a great experience. All the sites are super level and easy to get set up in. This was a first rate place to stay. We’ve been in RV parks that were just huge concrete pads that offered nothing. This was lovely and easy. Close to attractions and easy on to the highway. We noticed no highway noise.

Had a lot of goose poo. My second stay here I decided to do a premium pull through site with concrete pad. Much better but lacks shade. Creating my own shade with my awning. Verizon signal is pretty strong but I do use a hotspot for streaming and Internet service. They do have Wi-Fi here which is spotty at times, but I was here last when school was back in session for most people. Wi-Fi bandwidth is a little better with less children. Staff is always friendly and has a nice little camp store with miscellaneous camping supplies and food items with drinks, etc.. haven’t brought my golf cart yet, but it appears to be a golf cart friendly site

I walked through some of the other lake front sites and geese crap was all over too. It was a one day layover so we just stayed and moved on. The place could use more trees for shade but over looked very clean other than the geese issue. Close to 75 so you can jump on/off……you can hear the Highway traffic though.

We stayed here as an overnight stop between Columbus and Nashville. The weather was cold and snowy. We were assigned a site next to the bath house. I might not have usually wanted this site, but given the weather it was nice to be close to the bathroom and laundry facilities. The staff had taken the time to earn their customers with a memo attached to the map of the freezing temperatures and suggested filling your tanks and disconnecting your water hoses. They also warned about their high water pressure. Because of other reviews, I did get a pull through site. Many of the back in sites did not have enough room to park in line with your rig. Because of the cold, we did use the bathrooms. They were very clean and were setup as private rooms. The water pressure in the showers was great and there was plenty of hot water. We did laundry. The trim was clean and most of the machines were in working order. Quarters were available in the office. The prices were reasonable at $3.00 a loaf to wash and dry. Our dog enjoyed the dog park. The layout offered plenty of space to walk her as well. Propane by the gallon was available on site which in this weather was a nice feature. Overall, a great spot for an overnight stop or if you are visiting the area. I would return.

We were heading home (to Ohio) after a two week trip but needed a place to stay a couple nights so we could go to the Ark Encounter and, using Campendium, found this location. This was an interesting experience.
Pros:
- Easy to get to (not far off the freeway)
- Office staff was nice, check in process was quick, and if arriving during office hours, someone in a golf cart will escort you to your site and help you get your RV placed.
- Gravel roads and sites well maintained.
- There are 21 individual bathrooms (toilet, sink, and shower [modern fiberglass enclosure]) which were clean.
- Lots of potential activities for kids and other family members: lake/large pond; large playground area, including two inflatables; pool; large outdoor chess and checkers sets (chess pieces about 14" high with the "boards" created by reddish and blackish bricks); two enclosures for leash free dog exercise.
- RV only campground
- Full hook ups at every site
- Wi-fi
- Illuminated site number markers (so helpful!! when it is dark).
- Although close to freeway, noise not too loud (more like white noise that you dont really notice).
- Very organized business, with attention to details.
Cons:
- The road the campground is on is very narrow; although you are only on it a short distance, I would not want to have had an RV coming from the opposite direction.
- Many sites had a significant slope (ours was fairly level, but there were many we were glad we didnt get).
- Fairly crowded; sites quite close together.
- While freeway noise wasnt very loud, there is a train track somewhere nearby so sleeping in late is difficult :) due to the train whistle.
- While I included being an organized business as a pro, some of their business practices are negatives for me. They are very much a business, with stringent policies on cancellations, refunds, etc. I was very! surprised to learn, when I was checking out on the online reservation system, that they do not guarantee your selected site... they guarantee the chosen type of site, but not the specific site. You have to pay $10 extra to lock-in the site you selected. There are charges if you park on the grass or put a rug/mat in the grass, if you want to check in early, and I'm sure more extra charges that I didnt see/read about.
- Many, maybe most, sites were not long enough to park your tow vehicle in. You cant park in the grass so most people parked at their site's entrance, perpendicular to their trailer. Having all those vehicles along the edge of the narrow roads could make it very difficult to maneuver your RV into or out of your site. They do have a few parking areas but I only ever saw one vehicle in the one near our site.
While the con list above seems lengthy, we would stay there again if we were in the area and needed someplace for a couple nights.

The pictures on here and on their website are extremely misleading. This is a very over crowded Rv park. It was a very tight squeeze to get into my site and I felt horrible having to interrupt my neighbors campfire to ask if they could move their car so I could get in. The place is just one wild free for all and the very narrow streets are lined with cars and kids running everywhere. So if you like loud music and lots of people with a lot to do then this would be the place for you. I was looking for a more serene campsite for a one night stop and the site is not level at all. My daughter did enjoy the playground but I definitely wouldn’t come back.

Very nice clean park. They had movie nights every Friday, a massive dog park, and a pool. The staff was very friendly, if we are ever back in the area we will be back!
The only negative, is some sights are pretty unlevel, but we were able to work around it!

We tried a Premium Pull Through Site hoping for more space. Because we were assigned a site on the end of a row our right side was wide open while our left was practically atop our neighbor's patio.
Water, sewer and electric connections were widely spaced yielding long hoses.
Road noise from I-75, but not severe.
