Drove up here-gorgeous scenery- but campground is under construction all year long. But it would be a great place to stay!
Lost In The Woods would stay here again

Visited here, intending to RV camp beginning on 6-16-19. Arrived to a bunch of construction and closed road - the road going past this spot to Camino Cove is hard closed. It’s a nice campground, there were about 6 spots taken by car campers, fairly close together and about 200’ above the reservoir, although it is next to the boat launch water access is not easy.
There was no way we could pull our 28’ trailer into the loop - one direction, that would allow easy backing into the angled spaces, was really washed out and would require a 4X4 with nothing towed; If we tried the other direction, there was no way to turn around and get into a spot.
Basically, if you want to car/tent camp for free, this place is pretty good. If you have a trailer/class X rig, forget it, at least for now.
Super good cell service all over here.
We ended up driving 40 minutes to Jones Fork, which I’ll review when we leave.

A secluded spot in the El Dorado NF with a beautiful reservoir! The road in is windy but well paved making for a very pretty drive. There are only 8 spots and it does fill up. I arrived on a Tuesday and by Friday morning all but 1 spot was filled. It is right next to the boat ramp but you don't get too much noise.
The sites are mostly level and have a picnic table and a fire pit. There is a vault toilet that was clean enough. Trash and plastic/aluminum recycling. Lots of shade. The one-way loop through the campground might be tight for larger rigs. I had no problem with my 24' class c and I did watch a small 5th wheel pull in.
With AT&T I usually had just 1 bar but was able to work with my hotspot from my phone without any major issues.
The only downside is the lack of defined hiking trails nearby.

The Campground has no drinking water, but the pit toilet was well maintained and stocked with toilet paper. All the sites we're large and big parking space for trailers or RVs.The other campers are mostly familys, are friendly and quite. Dogs allowed. Campsite filled early Friday day. Verizon cell coverage. Personally would stay here again and for longer I had this time around.

According to people on other sites (google guides, etc.) this is now open, but is no longer free.

The campground is closed and will convert to a new area sometime in 2020.
