Electric was available in our site and there is a dump station on the premises. We only stayed one night while on our way through but will be staying again on our way back home!

Many sites have a short parking pad and best suited for < 30 ft rigs. Most sites are wooded or partially wooded, and all are well maintained. Some sites are unlevel, but otherwise worth it, so bring leveling blocks. Can launch a kayak or SUP from some of the sites close to the lake. Bath house is nice and fairly clean with good hot water pressure. Coin operated washer & dryer in each bath house. In addition to nice lake for water sports, there are nearby hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and a huge dog park.

My dad helped build the dam. Since I was a toddler I've been coming to west branch reservoir. I learned to fish here, I learned to swim here, I learned about wildlife here. The rangers were always so friendly and ready to answer any questions you had.
Well, here it is, 2023. The park officers don't even acknowledge you. The dam is closed. Many of the park areas are inaccessible now.
I was fishing today on the Gilbert road boat ramp. It's 30 degrees, no boats going out. A park officer drove by and stopped a bit ahead in the parking lot. As I left I slowed down to say hello and chat with him about the fishing. He would not even look at me.
It's such a disappointment from the way west branch used to be run. These park rangers act more like government agents than public park personnel .
I'll still come here, the dam is 200 yards from my back yard. Not that I am able to access it any longer .
What used to be a friendly place to hike , fish , and camp , has become a government run facility . What a damn shame .

I was surprised at how many people were camping here with temps in the 30’s. Nicest bathroom facilities I have ever seen at a state park. Well maintained and clean. Lots of individual shower stalls. Can’t wait to come back. Book your reservation early because other people seem to know it’s a great campground as well.

This was our second trip to this campground. We stayed at a full service site and everything worked as expected. The water spigot is different than any other I have used but a neighbor saw me struggling and helped out. For those having trouble, pull down on the collar around the lower water outlet while pulling up on the handle, then water will come out the service end where you hook up your hose.
The staff was friendly and the state park rangers made laps around the park a few times a night as they take safety seriously.
The ONLY issue we had was that the site we were on, had ZERO shade. It also has the door side of the trailer facing west right into the sun.

This was a wonderful spot, perfect for our kids and dogs and a very convenient location to Canton.
This park also has very clean facilities and a laundry! As full time travelers this was the first time we had seen this in a state park.
We stayed in a 32 foot motor home and had no problem backing in and navigating the park. Will definitely stay again.

Most sites are electric only. Cell service on Verizon was spotty and T Mobile almost non-existent. Sites were so close you could see everything in your neighbor's site. We extended the jacks fully out were still 7 inches out of level front to back. Site 72 should be noted for smaller trailers or tents, but not motorhomes.

This is a really nice Ohio State Park Campground. Heavily wooded and long a very large lake. There is a nice little beach, boat ramp and lots to do. Facility building are very new and very nice. However, I would say the campground is less than ideal for large rigs. The roadways are very narrow with drainage ditches along side so maneuvering a large rig into position can be a challenge, although I got our 38' MH in without major issue. I will also say after looking around there are many sites that are far from level. Maybe 1/3 of the sites were tent campers too.
