Another stay at Wendy Oaks, again can’t say enough about this amazing nook of peaceful, tranquil, southern hospitality! The improvements made on website are fantastic, there are pictures of sites, with decrepit details, though we did not utilize the amenity of the lake, we seen fellow campers fishing and kayaking. What fun, I’m sure! The staff here gave great directions and left me feeling like I should have been camping at Wendy Oaks, all along. The resort itself has been really put through a facelift. There has been a nice clean up on what without a doubt were permanent residents, on some of the prime lots. All sites have nice firepits. Landscaping is a daily task. No knee high grass here. Even though it’s next to a busy u.s. highway, the road noise is not bad. There are a dozen or so sites that are next to a beautiful peaceful little lake. Staff here is helpful, focused and attentive, without being intrusive. Smiles and waves all day…. The squirrels are active and a hoot to watch. The ducks are active on land and water. We are here in early October, there are Witches, Ghost and Goblins on the property. That is well accepted, because we love Halloween. Happy customer here, Wendy Oaks RV Resort!🎼🎵🎶😎😁

I agree with everyone else, Melanie was so kind and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. However…the road noise is horrific. At all hours of the night. Truckers using their exhaust brakes, the kids who think their systems are the best and greatest and absolutely MUST be heard by all with a mile radius and the engine revving by the pe... more
I agree with everyone else, Melanie was so kind and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. However…the road noise is horrific. At all hours of the night. Truckers using their exhaust brakes, the kids who think their systems are the best and greatest and absolutely MUST be heard by all with a mile radius and the engine revving by the people who are clearly lacking in other departments is brutal. Getting out of the campground in the morning was like a game of Frogger. Don’t attempt to hit up the first gas station you see on the left, as the pumps face the wrong way for anyone pulling anything. I know this is zero fault of the campground and I wish it were different but it’s the reality. The lake is gorgeous and as much as I wanted to take my pup for a stroll around it, the bugs were hellacious and there was some random man living in a broken down RV at the back end of the lake, so we did not. It’s definitely convenient for an off highway stop, though. Nice spacious pull thru that I didn’t even need to disconnect for the night. I appreciated that part. There are some obviously long term residents in the park and most of the middle are transient folks like myself. I’m a solo female traveler and I felt safe here. I will say I did not feel comfortable walking my pup around though. There were several folks that clearly had no control of their pets that lunged and snapped at my dog just for existing. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Melanie was awesome! She called the day before our stay to warn us about impending weather and recommended an alternate campsite. We delayed our trip one day, and she quickly accommodated the change. She met us on arrival and escorted us to our site. We bought a bag of ice, and she delivered that to our site! We were on a back-in ... more
Melanie was awesome! She called the day before our stay to warn us about impending weather and recommended an alternate campsite. We delayed our trip one day, and she quickly accommodated the change. She met us on arrival and escorted us to our site. We bought a bag of ice, and she delivered that to our site! We were on a back-in site overlooking the beautiful lake (site 5), and this was also conveniently across from the bath house. Bath house was clean, and had a secure code for the door. Precious ducks all along the lake. A momma duck with her little ducklings ran all around, and a momma-to-be was also sitting on her eggs just below our camp site. Right off a highway so heard a little noise overnight, but that’s only because I was awake with my husband snoring.😂 Would definitely stay here again if passing through the area.

Nice overnight spot easy pull through has lake with kayaks to use can fish too
Right next to highway so traffic noise at night
I like the convenience of location so I tolerate the traffic noise the hostess is very nice

En route to FL from TX. Stopped for the night. The park was very clean, quiet, and Melanie was a gem. She met us as we pulled in and ushered us to our beautiful spot with a view of the water. Our pup loved her walks around the water. We will absolutely be stopping here again.

We stayed here on our way home to Florida from picking up our Casita in Rice, TX. The park is easy to get to off the main travel route. We were promptly greeted by Melanie when we pulled in. She made us feel very welcomed and showed us to our spot. She let us know all of the amenities the park had to offer. Park was very clean to include the bathrooms/ showers. I thought it was really nice to see trash cans available at the individual sites. Even though this was a quick stop over, we enjoyed our time there and would not hesitate to come back.

This campground is right off the main road but it's really not an issue. We were in site 4 which overlooks a beautiful pond which was stocked and fun. The available WiFi was fast and reliable and the host was incredibly welcoming and helpful. We'll be back!

I stayed here in early April 2022 and again at the end of April 2022. Very nice. Sites were fairly level and facilities were great. Nice walking path around a large lake with lots of visible fish. I will definitely stay here again!
