I didn't use the restrooms and only 2/3 water pumps were working. The trash dumpster was overflowing by Sunday morning. Lots of road noise from the highway but it dies down at night. The Lochsha Lodge and Powell Ranger Station are just a few miles down the road.
There is no camp host on duty this year but they need one. While I was there I heard several complaints from other campers that their sites had been taken over while they were away for the day either fishing or hiking. One lady said their tent and other items were taken - not sure if it was by the Forest Service or another camper. I suspect maybe the Forest Service may have come through and seen that they had tried to skirt the rules by claiming a site through the week and then not staying the night. One guy said he paid for two sites - one for himself and one for his son who was arriving later in the day. He left to drive back to cell service to let his son know where to find him and by the time he got back to camp someone else had moved in. Some folks came in late at night and didn't pay at all for their site. I had planned to take a day trip further down the road to hike but was worried that I would either lose my site for the 2nd night or my stuff would be stolen so I ended up staying in camp for two full days. I wish I had known about the problems before I paid, I would have only stayed for one night.
In addition to that chaos, there were a couple of campers who left their generators running until the wee hours of the morning. Dogs running free throughout the camp, I had left a drink on the table outside while I was in my camper for just a minute. Came back out to find the neighbor's dog had come over and knocked it on the ground.
The camp is nice and I love this area but I'll think twice before staying here again. If there is no camp host on duty I likely won't be staying here in the future.

We spent 2 nights in the Lolo national forest before heading to Glacier. My brothers had never been to Idaho so we popped over the border from Missoula, WOW what a treat! The Loscha river is absolutely stunning and Wendover sits right on it. We started our stay in site #2 as we got in late. Even being close to the entrance and the road it was still quite peaceful The next day I took my dog for lap around the campground and saw site #17 was open, we moved immediately. If you can get this spot, it’s amazing! Huge space, water spigot across the road, trail to the river and tons of privacy from neighbors. We didn’t meet the camp host, but the bathrooms were the cleanest vault toilets we had ever experienced. I would 100% got back to Wendover. Check out the Jerry Johnson hot springs on the Warm Spring Creek trail about 3-4 miles south.

Both road and river noise, but road noise not obnoxious. Large level sites, beautiful trees. Pretty empty when we were there, six sites occupied in one loop, one in the other.

Easy access from Hwy 12. Next to river, but most sites don't have a view of the river. Recent tree cutting left plenty of firewood. Had no problem getting a site in late July. Pit toilets. No hookups but water is available. Tent or small RV ideal. Some road noise.
