Overall Rating

A good spot about 30 minutes away from Lake Tahoe. Down a paved logging road sitting by a small leak. Good dispersed, campsites. Vault toilets and Verizon cell signal that gets better the farther back you go. Some dirt bike traffic during the day but gone by dusk. Stayed 2 nights at the beginning of Labor Day weekend.

Overall Rating

NOTE: We googled in, and it directed via an aggressive off-road route, we arrived to see a Prius and realized there was a totally paved road in. I can't remember if we had service, but download offline maps or check Gaia. I believe we took a left onto the rough road, and if we'd stayed on pavement we'd have gotten there faster.

Small lake, tight spots all on a slope facing the water. It was Memorial Day weekend and we were able to get a spot on the water. People were all friendly, you would have a hard time avoiding conversation here :) Lots of day use folks with kayaks and through hikers. It was beautiful and a great place to spend a night. The frogs were chirping til late, wasn't buggy - wished we'd had a kayak or something, we would have stayed longer to enjoy.

This campground is definitely not a California State Park campground. It is a primitive campground on USFS property I believe. Its possibly on private logging land but more likely USFS.
