This park is on a peninsula that extends into Grand Lake of the Cherokees in northeastern Oklahoma. So most every site backs up to the lake and includes a waterside deck. They "cater to the motorhome crowd" so you may need an extension to your power cord, hose and sewer hose because the hook ups are on the side for motor homes to pull front in. The gravel pads are level and easy to back in to.
The park is well cared for with water access and a swimming dock. There are only a few sites available because most are taken with long-term campers.

“Nice, quiet atmosphere on the water”

We only had a few days for a getaway this weekend, so we chose Grand Lake since it is close to our home. We tried out a new RV resort at Grand Lake, called Water's Edge, and we were really glad that we did. It was exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful, quiet getaway on the water. I knew as we passed the herd of longhorn cattle on the way into the RV resort that we'd come to the right place.

Sites are gravel, with a picnic table overlooking the water at each site. We had a motorhome, 38 foot long, with plenty of room. Site was very level.

At first, the kids were disappointed because there was no playground and the road weren't concrete, which meant no scooters or hoverboards. But, the rocks along the shoreline quickly became their playground and our first night both kids came in to take a shower, covered in dirt. But, they had been exploring the rocks and found all kinds of interesting things. It was good to see them playing outside. (Disclaimer: there's snakes in the area, so if kids are playing near the shoreline, they need to watch for snakes in the rocks)

We wanted to visit The Artichoke restaurant for dinner, but they were full. Note to anyone going to this restaurant - make reservations in advance. So, we went to the Lighthouse Supper Club instead. Brian and I had coconut shrimp and the kids had catfish and chicken fried steak. We left stuffed, let me tell you. The food was quite good.

We did a little bit of fishing, and a lot of watching the wildlife around the lake.
