Lake Dunmore is BEAUTIFUL and a fun vibe if you like playing out on the water. If you don't have a boat/kayak, they have a boathouse that offers a range of rental options including kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, as well as fishing and pontoon boats.
The campsite is well-maintained, with numerous sites offering water and electricity, and there is a dump site available. They also have basic cabins (kind of like a KOA), which is a convenient option if you have any friends who may not have an RV but want to join you on the lake.
The community here is lovely – close-knit and welcoming. The charm of this locale lies in its status as a popular spot for local and returning seasonal campers, which is a clear endorsement of its appeal. Though it is worth mentioning that there are a few individuals who are somewhat unique – not threatening or anything, just a little rough around the edges... and don't pick up on social cues (haha does that make sense?).
Lastly, It's worth noting:
- Cell service can be patchy to non-existent.
- The campsite has a 2-night minimum stay policy, and the first night's payment is non-refundable. Given the site's popularity, particularly over the weekend, advance booking is a necessity. A more flexible cancellation policy, like permitting cancellations a week in advance, would be an appreciated addition, as it would accommodate changes in plans.
Overall, love the lake and would camp here again!
Chelsea would stay here again
