Going to have trouble saying much nice about this CG, we were looking for a place to overnight traveling from Winnipeg to Paint Lake Provincial Park (30 min south of Thompson – about as far north as you can drive [on pavement anyway] in Manitoba.
It’s WAY out of the way 200 km / 2 ½ hours from north/west Wpg. That’s OK drive north on Hwy 6, what’s not OK is the 12 km on Hwy 237.
Posted limit on this loose gravel road is 90 kph – we traveled at 40 and I thought that was pushing it.
We “never” saw any staff .... they were not there to check us in .... not there when I went back (as sign said return 5 pm- nope), not there when we left. Could have had a free stay.
Actual setup is confusing .... we needed to ask other campers were or site was .... [no staff].
Site is just to short to stay connected (21) so we disconnected,’
Site was slightly unlevel.... no huge deal.
Power (E only site) was OK – just. 108 / 30 amp. (using ½ that A/C fridge only).
There are modern toilets and showers; there is a basic playground for the kids.
Water access to the beach (Lake Manitoba) is convenient. We did not go in the water, no apparent dog beach.
Overall impression GETTO, old CG not upgraded in years, looks like many (longer term tenants).
In reality my BIGGEST concerns with this CG is the horrible hwy 237 dusty +++.
Nope sorry 1 trip is enough.
