“A bit cramped, but a nice TN state park”

Reviewed Aug 07, 2018

Overall Rating

This park is a little bit dated and cramped for our tastes. We got an outer loop spot which was a lot more private than inside the loop. There was a bit of trash around the site - especially in the fire pit.
The showers were very nice and the ranger made several passes by to check on everything. Quiet except for some speed boats on the lake.

“Nice camping in an older park on the river.”

Reviewed Apr 01, 2018

Overall Rating

Spent two days here in April. It's an older campground with a lovely view of the river on both sides of the park, but a steep drop off to the river. Boating, playgrounds for the children and lots of hiking trails within the park. Improvements are underway (the camp store hadn't opened yet) and it was a little hard to find someone to check us in. The camp website provides photos of each site and you can reserve online. Note that some sites are short so it's wise to check out the photos. We arrived at 2:30 p.m. and just went to our reserved site, then checked in later. Clean, private showers and restrooms. Extensive hiking trails. Each site has a firepit, grill and picnic table. Rainy weather didn't encourage socializing so it was quiet and peaceful.
