We ended up here sort of by accident, but liked the pull-through sites and the trails/caves--though constant rainfall kept us from getting the full experience of the place. Right next to a golf course if you like that kind of thing.

First of all believe your gps and Do not turn off E Main Street at the first State Park sign. Continue through town and follow the road curve to the left and then turn at the next State Park sign. The check in and payment is on the honor system and while the website would not allow us to reserve, there were sites marked and tagged as such. For tent campers there is a good sized area. There are very few electrical hookups and no water/sewer. The bathroom was reasonably tidy but tiny and in need of restoration. All in all we had a very peaceful night. We haul a 37 ft fifth wheel and there were only 3 sites that would have worked and just one was a pull through. If we had anything other than a fifth wheel, we would return, especially since there is a golf course right next door.

The campground is small and only a small amount have electric sites. We finally found the water spigot near the bathrooms. Bathrooms are small with one shower stall each. Not real clean and water pressure is minimal. The closest dump station is 7 miles back the way we came. Very few level sites. Great for tents but I don't think this site was meant for a large RV. The park is nice and shady. There are some great hiking trails and caves. The river is about a half mile down the street with a boat ramp. It was pretty buggy during our visit. There is a Walmart within 2 miles and the motor cycle museum in town is great to visit. Over all not a bad place to spend a night or 2 but I wouldn't recommend a longer stay.

The state park campground is very small and the sites are very close together. They have a lot of fallen branches from the winter as no one has occupied them. The sites are also short as the our travel trailer is 19ft and have the nose of our SUV and back of the trailer on our site boundary but thankfully they are pull thru sites with electricity. The Verizon cell reception is great. Bathroom (Pit toilets) are open but the water spigots have been turned off as it is still too early in the season.
