We made this campground our basecamp for 2 days while we explored nearby Yellowstone Park. Sites were nicely spaced with lots of privacy from the neighbors due to the plant growth around the sites. We stopped midweek without a reservation and had no issues finding a nice site. The Shoshone river flows on the backside of some of the sites, but most of those sites had been reserved. We could still hear the river at night though which helped soothe us to sleep.
The campground was very clean, including the vault toilets and each site had a bear box that made storing food safer. The campground is right off the busy highway, a bit of a downside during the day, but the traffic was so minimal at night it did not disturb us in the slightest.
We had a 16 foot trailer, and utilized a non electric site. Sadly, no cell service though.

Very nice rustic campground, a lot of trees. Sites are level and far enough apart for privacy and they have fire rings. East side sites have electric.

Some are pull thru while others are back in. We stayed in a pull thru with a 36 ft 5th wheel. The river is close by so fishing is an option. The park is approx 20 miles from the east e nterance of Yellowstone. Cody is approx 25 miles in the other direction. There is no dump station but there are bathroom only facilities..no showers so plan accordingly. Each site as a fire pit and picnic table. Great location ... Great campground. There was very little, if any, noise. We did not have cell service or wifi...and that's ok.

Loop with sites 1-20 have electricity and the rest are primitive. Pit toilets are available at the entrance and the mid point of the loops. Each loop has potable water outlets. Lots on the outside of the loop are pull through and inside the loop was back ins.
There is no RV dump. The closest dump is 15 mile to Cody at the state park. Only $6 to dump with potable water available.
Yellowstone is 22 miles to the east gate and 35 miles to Cody. The town of Wapiti has a couple of restaurants and Billy Cody's former hunting lodge before the east entrance.
