Walt's Four Seasons Campground & Country Store

Like most such campgrounds, the sites at Walt's are pull-throughs too close to their neighbors. Your picnic table is next to your neighbor's sewer and water. And it's near the highway. You can hear it, especially at night.

But all such off-the-highway campgrounds are like that. Walt's staff make the place a worthwhile stop. They are actively improving the place (they are newer owners). The sites are gravel and level. The camp store is pretty good. And there are meeting areas for camping clubs. That's why we were there.

It's not a destination campground, but Walt's is a solid choice for a day or two.

In June of 2023, my husband & I decided to move into our 42' toy hauler. We searched & searched within a 30-minute radius of our property that we had bought for a campground with great amenities and where we would feel safe with our 2 babies. Walt's is by far the safest, friendliest, fun-filled campground compared to any of the others we visited around. We were greeted with friendly faces and welcoming staff from our very first day of move-in. They made sure we got settled & hooked up ok and have continued to make us feel right at home. My husband is a truck driver so isn't always home when things go wrong with the camper. The staff has always been there to help when something happens especially when we have had issues with propane leaks, or the heater not working during the colder temps. This campground offers put-put course, swimming pool with poolside pub, playground, horseshoes, catch & release fishing, walking trail, small dog park, shower houses/restrooms, laundry facility, on site gas station, a country store with made to order pizzas, sandwiches & tex mex! They do several family friendly events throughout the year. At the country store they have anything of convenience that you may need from toiletries, drinks, snacks, games, books, alcoholic beverages, etc. We absolutely love staying here. The sites have been freshly graveled. During the summer the lawn, gardens, pool, etc. Were maintained regularly and they are constantly doing updates weekly here. The best part it is also right off I-70. For long term campers that are truckers they do have a small area for semis. Side-note: Above I just chose what a normal rate would be for like weekend/daily camping approximately. It doesn't give the option above for rates of the long-term camping which is a discounted rate. We camped at Walt's Four Seasons Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had reservations at another place and someone was on our site. I scrambled to find a place for the night.
Found this little gem. We pulled up to their end of season celebration. Food, live bands and goat roping.
The staff were so sweet and helpful. We were escorted to our site to be sure it was what we needed. Small pull through site with full hookup. Just what we needed for our 1 night.
The grounds were well maintained. Clean bathrooms, the pool was still open. The kids were having a wonderful time. There are nice shaded sites and an area where groups of RVers can camp together.
Highly recommend. 1 night or more.

Super easy to book a spot online. Easy on-off the Highway. Everyone very friendly and helpful here. Some full-timers, very nice too. There is free air to fill up your tires. Pizza to order. 24-hour Gas station with mini-mart attached to this RV park. Walking trails, swimming pool, miniature golf. Rates were great too. Would definitely stay here again.

Day 4 of our 2 mon journey out west - in Abilene Kansas at the nicest little campground - Walts Campground! Super nice- pool, mini golf, horseshoes, sparkling clean bathhouse ( hot water, could use more pressure) , nice sites. Right off I-70, noise not a problem. Plus the Eisenhower Library is fantastic. Excellent dinner at R & G Diner in Abilene.
