This is not a fabulous area of the country to be traveling around. The whole southern tip of Lake Michigan along the coastline (Gary, IN) is to be avoided, my fellow RVers, for safety reasons. The crime rate is off the charts. THIS particular Walmart is *just* far enough away from that to be comfortable. It is actually the quietest Walmart I’ve ever stayed at. Well lit. A few other RVs and a trucker for safety. Very good place to stop in an otherwise questionable region of the country.

5 stars for a Walmart, lol! 24 hour open, well lit with darker corners. It’s 2 miles off I 90, but other rigs here and ‘feels’ better than the truck stop option (I stopped there first) after a long day driving. And much quieter!
