It’s a small crowded lot with tons of overnighters despite the signs.

Good cell signal with all carriers and you can walk to some places nearby.

I called and was told to park in the large lot behind, and across the street from, Walmart. It is Very large so it was easy to get a spot away from the trucks. Lots of large potholes, so I wouldn’t want to arrive after dark. Felt safe and comfortable.

Drove through-parking lot is small and crowded at 4:30.
When we called to see if we could stay, we were told we’re not supposed to but the police don’t so anything about it; it would up to WM to ask you to leave

Several semis and rvs already there on arrival around 4:30. Little noisy but felt safe. Parking lot slopes down from building so park accordingly.

Both times no problem. Did not ask - there were several other RVs and trucks when we arrived both days around 3:30pm. It does seem like a popular stop over - but no problem finding space for our 35ft motorhome and tow. There’s large dirt lot behind the Walmart so that may also be available for overnites….? We arrived well before dark and the back half of the lot was filled with semis, RVs, campers, and Ryder trucks. Several signs saying ‘no overnight parking’ so I asked permission and was told the official answer was ‘no’ but the gal smiled and said no one would stop us. Great overnight stop going east or west on 10. Stocked up with food and supplies at Walmart and they also had the cheapest gas in town so we filled up. There were about a dozen other campers here and it was quiet at night.

There were approximately 20 overnighters in the lot ranging from large trucks. Big rigs, vans and autos. We shopped for groceries and had a comfortable evening. We stopped for one night on the way to Big Bend NP. There were about 20 other units and encountered no problems.

Just watch out for your late night sugar crave my husband went into Walmart and got cheese cake and chocolate mint ice cream!
