Well-maintained state park. Sites with no hook-ups to full hook-ups so check for what you want when reserving. Deer wander through & lots of squirrels. Few sites have lake views. Boat ramp & I think kayaks available to rent. Lots of trees, mountains. Blacktop roads & sites, picnic table & fire ring.

Winter is quiet and no crowd. Loop Road cleared daily and my site had been plowed out so no problem.

Scamp will serve me well boon-docking or otherwise still had it winterized so had water jugs in pickup.

We stayed 2 nights at this lovely quiet campground. The views around the park are beautiful! The park itself is very nice and well maintained. And the rangers were very helpful when we had questions.

Driving through the loops conjured up scenes from the movie "The Grapes of Wrath", where Tom Joad and his family arrive from the midwest to one of the California labor camps looking for farm work during the dust bowl depression in the 1930s. Except, this experience is in color! Sites are really close together, depending on the loop, and backing in a trailer will be a challenge in some sites dodging other rigs and large trees. Still, it has full hookups and the good volunteers from Colorado who worked the firewood detail where very friendly.
This park is too big for me, meaning too many sites.

Great location near the lake, hiking trails and the Wallowa Tramway, which was wonderful experience.
Despite reviews to the contrary, we were unable to connect to AT&T or Verizon. Your device will report being connected, with up to 5 bars for AT&T, and 3 bars for Verizon, but the cell tower is actually a US Cellular tower with very low bandwidth speeds. And as a non-US Cellular customer, you will not receive priority on the tower’s network management.
We have a pretty sophisticated rooftop antenna for both cellular and WiFi attached to an enterprise grade mobile router. The admin page for the router allows us to select specific frequency bands to maximize our connections- a must for a digital nomad. You can do casual web surfing, check email and social media, but I was unable to get upload speeds greater than 8.45 Mbps, and averaging about 4.5 Mbps. Not enough for Teams, Zoom, or WebEx meetings.
We had planned to stay here for 10 days, but had to scramble to find a place to work after the weekend.

Campsites are paved and level, and many feature full hookups (Water, Electric, Sewer). The campground is well laid out and easy to navigate. The hosts are some of the nicest we've ever encountered. Firewood is available for sale at the entrance to loop C and you can borrow carts there to easily wheel it back to your site.
Water in the lake is crystal clear, wildlife is abundant, and great hiking is all around you.

The was a star gazer event for kids one evening and a build a water rocket launch activity.
No cell access except for a little Verizon and Sprint but there is Wifi at the Marina. Just buy something to give back.
Beautiful and well kept campground. A loop is where we stayed. A15 was a little tight to get in with a tree, rock and other vehicles across the way.

Camped here 2 nights Sept 2017. The setting is beautiful, right near the lake and among large pines, very pretty. There are bath houses with showers. Loops are paved, with paved sites. You can walk to the lake and along the creek. There are trail heads nearby for hikes into the wilderness. It's also fun (but expensive) to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain, where you get spectacular views, and there are more trails that can be accessed from there.
The downside is that the park was crowded, the sites are very close together, and there is no vegetation between the sites to shield you from your neighbors. I prefer more privacy so probably will not return to this park.
