We had site 49 and it was big enough for our 37 ft trailer, but had to unhook and park tow vehicle sideways. Didn’t use any of their facilities, but they had electric and water. We used 30 amp, but I believe it also had 50 amp. Quiet and not busy on the November Saturday that we were there. Tall beautiful trees surrounded us. Lots of leaves fallen made it difficult to see the road and site. Our site was paved and had a picnic table. A little un level. Behind the site has a fire ring and a grill/picnic table area.

The road is paved but don’t get hurry because of heaves. Each site is pretty private from each other.

No dish satellite channels available. Antenna only got a few channels and they were poor quality.

Stayed over night in our van in the tent area - high and dry. Bathroom in good working order and clean. Lots of pine trees and lake was a short walk.

Nice big spaces in a densely wooded area with good cell signal. Perfect for me. The common areas like trails and playgrounds aren’t maintained. Might not be the best park for kids/families. Lots of the pads are covered by leaves and pine needles. Bathhouse is old but functional. My biggest concern here is the lack of maintenance on the trees. I wouldn’t want to be here in a storm or high winds. Many trees are already half way fallen over being supported by other trees which a solid wind would unwedge. There’s a decent amount of road noise as well. This park has a ton of potential with a little TLC.

We had reserved on line so had our confirmation. Honor system with envelopes when you come in without reservations. It would have been $20 cash if we paid at the gate. Our site at least had not been cleaned, junk in the firepit and trash laying around. Several Sheriff cars came by in the morning, not sure what that was about.

It is nice to travel the backroads around Memphis if you are headed North and east. This CG gives you a decent overnight.

We just drove through for the night with our dogs, only four other people camping so nice and quiet. No one was at the gate when we arrived, only saw one forest service staff member the next morning.
PROS- Easy to find, quiet and relaxing, nice spacious spots with a picnic table, fireplace and small grill, all wooded with lots of shade. Convenient dump station on the way out. Grass field near tent area that our dogs could run in. Small parking lot for extra cars. Electric and water worked well at our site.
CONS- Bathrooms/showers available but not maintained, the showers only had one setting on them, very hot!! Bathrooms by the lake weren't usable, toilets backed up and dirty. Some of the paved roads have tree roots growing under them making the roads uneven. There is a boardwalk on the lake but dangerous for small kids as half of the railings are rotted or have fallen off.

Quiet area. Primitive fire pit without a grill was a disappointment. The site listed all sites also have a grill but ours did not. Level site but some of the roads to get to the site were rough.

We arrived pretty late at night without a reservation. There wasn’t really any instructions for honor box payments for the campsite (only for the park) so we just put our payment in the envelope available. Even though it was Memorial Day weekend there were some empty spots. It was hard to tell though which were actually taken for that night or were already placed for the next day (since it was so late). We found a place and had some problems backing in because things are narrow and it was dark. But I mean I mean it’s to be expected. We got there way later than most people for an overnight stop. We just wanted some AC!
For what we used the sites were wonderful. Narrow, but deep. Spaced out well. Everyone was really nice as well. I would definitely stay again.
Since we were here during COVID restrictions, we do not about bathroom quality or cleanliness.
