We stayed here on July 15, 2024 for one night. It was easy to get to off I-70. We were in site 8 and it was a pull through and full hookups. This park had a nice pool area and a playground. We had our granddaughter with us so we took advantage of the pool, which stayed open until 10. She also loved the high slide! They had a laundry room but because they did not have a change machine ( and the office was closed) we couldn’t use them. The park has cabins, restrooms with showers and a dog park. We don’t have a dog so we didn’t see the dog area. We didn’t stop at this but The Evil Knievel Museum is near by if you are coming from the west on I-70.

We have stayed here multiple times. The WaKeeney KOA seems to fit our needs as an easy first night on the road traveling east from the Denver/Boulder area and a nice last night out, too. It's close to I-70 and in that part of the state the road is not so busy as to be horribly noisy. The staff is always pleasant and we met the owners this trip. They seem very nice, too. Of course, it seems a bit pricey, but then there's that making a living thing. Unbelievable, but I never heard a train at this particular KOA. Plus, being pretty much off-season (although regular season pricing) the dog park was relatively free of poop.
My one request for all the parks with off-leash dog areas....please consider artificial turf so our two German Shepherds can play without getting wet or muddy. It also makes cleanup much easier for poop (we have it in our backyard in Colorado!). MAYBE our fellow dog guardians would then pick up their dog's poop, too!!! Doubtful, but maybe.

Another review mentioned not being able to have a campfire which is only partially true. You can have one was long as it isn’t wood-burning - pellets and blocks are fine. Though there aren’t any fire pits or rings in any of the spots.
Watched a movie via the internet and only had a few minor slowdowns. It’s not perfect but if I wanted perfect I would just stay home. 🤷🏼♀️
Road noise was only noticeable during the day. Slept with the bedroom slide window open all night with no noise issues.
Overall, a nice place to stay for a short time. We assume it would be more lively and fun during the warmer months. We’d definitely stay again if we found ourselves in these parts again.

Reasonable accommodations. Flat level sites. 50 amp hook up with water. The Internet sucks. Nice pool. Only giving it 4 stars because they don’t allow camp fires.

Nice park for overnight. Just off the exit of I-70 and all pull thru sites. The winds were 18-20 mph with gusts to 35mph, so it was a little nerve wracking. Our site #9 had FHU and gravel site. This was a perfect stop for an overnight.

We stopped here while traveling through Kansas. This park is very clean and very well maintained. Did not use the showers or pool. It’s noisy from I70 as you are right next to it. One of the best KOAs in terms of the grounds and facilities. Had solid AT&T.

Just a stopover spot. Some ammeneites to keep the kids busy. Well maintained, nice dog park. More of a parking lot next to the interstate vs a campground.

Typical KOA (in my experience) being clean, well maintained, and fairly level. Lots of gravel and good Verizon and AT&T signal. Friendly staff. We're being chased by C19 lock downs so we're not seeing much of the campground or area.

Nice campground. Convenient off I-70. Level gravel sites with decent spacing. Cable TV. Wifi adequate. Good hookups. New looking pool. Playground. Nice dog areas. Stayed here for 3 days to do some housekeeping chores while on our trip. Sites appear to fill up nightly.
