We plan on coming back next year. Great weather in August for a Floridian. Be careful of map directions. Don’t turn on 180 into the mountains like we did with a trailer. There’s no turn arounds on this steep twisted road. Won’t make that mistake again!

This campground was, by far, the best one we experienced while traveling around the state. Sites and bath houses were recently renovated, CG was extremely clean and well kept, and camping next to Wolf Creek with the constant rush of falling water was soothing to the soul. Additionally, the state park was perfectly situated to enjoy Brasstown Bald, Amicalola Falls, Unicoi, the AT and so much more. Would come back in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for 3 nights in early August of 2023. Our price reflects senior discount and if I had any points. All of the sites have recently been re-done and are lovely! Sites 1-65 all (I believe) have sewer now, which was a nice surprise! Sites 66 - 90 are W/E and are for way shorter RVs, vans & tents, but were beautifully laid out. We were on what would be considered the main CG road, so there was a lot of traffic. If we went back, we would pick a site on the spur to the right - sites 19-22, site 27 or 32 (which is totally by itself on the turn around loop).
The check in person warned me of recent bear sightings (and we just had one visit our site at Fort Mountain) so I only did the loop around the lake trail - which was lovely & the waterfall a nice extra!
Cell service was next to nothing. The wifi is supposed to be completed again.
The cabins looked awesome, there is a playground and exercise equipment - really nice park & campground!
Wished I had booked it for longer!

We have stayed in many state parks in Georgia and Florida. This state park was by far the noisiest we have ever experienced. The site next to us had more than 20 people during the day with cars parked everywhere. The rangers and camp hosts simply drove by and ignored the crowd. The people on the opposite side of us left their dog tied to their camper while they went for a bike ride. Their dog barked the entire time. Children were constantly running through our campsite - not on the edge of the site but through the middle of it. The lake beach is pretty but it was so crowded we could not find a place to spread out our blanket. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, we would recommend booking elsewhere.

Yes, weak cell signal but this is a great park. Not the biggest we have ever been to, but very well maintained. The sites are very nicely laid out with good privacy. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed strolling around despite the ongoing improvements. Our dog had a lovely time.

Have no idea where people got 2 bars on either att or V. WiFi at checking only 2.5 gig at best. Maybe next year when they SAY they will have WiFi to campsites. Other than NO connectivity, great sites and great hosts!

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The kids loved the playground and had enough space to play between sites. The bathroom facilities were kept in excellent shape. There was only one bathhouse in our rather large loop, so if you are traveling in a pop up like us, you’ll want to pick a site closer to the center.
