Great campground especially for us as we are avid hikers. Easy and close to various trailheads of the Appalachian trail and even can hike to Blood Mountain via the park. Good clean shower house, nice wooded campsites and a big lake with a beach for swimming. And affordable at 34.00 includes electric and water hookups.

It’s March 2022 and they are doing construction, I believe their sites will be full hook up ( including sewer) by this summer. The construction is well organized and they are doing it section by section. We’re I was at was not under construction and the sites were cleaned and level. The walk around the lake and to the waterfall was amazing.

We feel blessed to have the site we are in (15). It is perfect for our 40 ft class A. We didn't even use our levelers. Most of the sites along Wolf Creek would be great too - even better due to better spacing. Double check your site for your size RV.
Great day or overnight hiking up to Blood mtn or the AT

Most of the sites along Wolf Creek are good four our size rig. A good number of the others are not long or level enough.
We love exploring this part of the GA mountains. We used to bring our kids up here every year in the fall so this brought back memories.
From Vogel a nice hike up Blood mountain is highly recommended, or even a couple nights in the AT.

This campground was absolutely amazing. The hosts were courteous and kept the campground in immaculate condition. This is the 2nd oldest GA State Park, but you would never know it by looking around. The sites are fairly spacious. There are really only two cons in the whole campground. The first is that there is not any cell service in most of the campground. (I'm aware that some people consider this a positive thing.) The second is that the roads can be pretty tight... especially if you go to the turn arounds. I can see it very possible that people get stuck in them and are unable to turn around.

Vogel is my favorite state park. Beautiful, excellent location for mountain exploring, and lots of hiking. My only caveat was with Site 72 specifically. The site is on the red loop, which is noted as "25 foot and under" and "pop ups, tents and vans only" variously, depending on which resource you check. We called ahead and were told our 24 foot TT would be fine. Everything was OK getting in and out, but there is a zero percent chance anyone except for maybe a Class B van would be able to "pull through" on 72. The "leg" going back out to the road is at probably a 75 degree angle to the site, and I certainly was not going to come anywhere near making the turn with our TT. I would imagine even a small popup or decent size Class C would have a very difficult time making the turn, if it would happen at all. I've attached a photo of the site to illustrate. You can also note from the photo that I had to park the camper a little further back than I would have liked, due to there being almost no room in front of the camper. I ended up having to back out into the road when I left, which was not difficult but should be considered, especially since it's listed as a "pull through," Overall, we'll be back, but maybe somewhere other than the Red loop.

We love Vogel State Park, but we reserved site 10 for our 30 foot TT. It is a pull through with steep grade on the entrance and exit. We got in but it was an adventure getting out. Never again. Also the power is on the back side of the site so the Awning and doors are on the road side. Site has a lot of traffic.

Vogel has a lot to offer. Nice lake that is stocked, waterfall, mini golf, beach, boat rentals, several playgrounds, trails and cottages. It’s location is within an hours drive of plenty of other North GA attractions.
Access to the park is something that comes up. If you approach from Cleveland, the road is a twisty uphill pull that could cause some large rigs concern. The turn into the park from this direction is a bit sharp. Approaching from Blairsville is much easier. I do not recommend approaching from Suches if you are pulling anything.
The bath houses are very clean. The campsites are a mixed lot of RV and tent. We stayed on the upper loop which is for shorter trailers, pop ups and tents. The middle loop is for larger rigs and has the biggest sites. The lower loop is more compact and tight. In all the loops there are some sites where you are on top of your neighbor. Most all the campsites are set in the woods. Numerous sites are creek side.
As for our site, 71, it was not tiny but a bit tight. Took a little effort to back in the trailer. The lot was level. Didn’t use any leveling blocks. Very close to the bath house and dumpster. We did have to move the behemoth picnic table to accommodate our set up. The fire pit was located below the camping area via steps. We didn’t utilize, but firewood is for sale. The campground was pretty quiet. AT&T service was fine for phone calls, but not much good for anything internet related.
All sites are electric and water only. There is a dump station. This brings me to my 2 issues. First, I was quite glad I installed our voltage regulator as it cut off the power twice our first night. No issues after that. Second, the main dump station only has a hand pump to flush out your tanks and it didn’t work. Why this hasn’t been replaced is puzzling. There is a 2nd dump station on the other side of the road that does have a regular spigot, but is not easy to pull up to without blocking the road. You almost need to go down and turn around to have the best access.
There is wildlife active in the area. Heed the bear signs. There were sightings in the campground during our stay. Practice bear safety.
