Vista Point Group Campground

Vista Point offers 5 group tent sites, with 35 people to a site. They have group RV sites too. The bathhouse is in between the tent and RV sites. Water spigot at the bathhouse and water spigot at each group tent site. Metal container trash box with animal proof lids. The kids and I annually tent camp with friends every Memorial weekend.

Vista Point has a nice sand beach, only for use by Vista Point campers. A nice playground is located at the center of the group tent camp loop. You can easily launch canoes and kayaks from your campsite.

The bathhouse is clean and well maintained by the camp host. Hot water showers and flush toilets.

Trails are easily accessible and the group tent sites are huge. Easily handles two large tent - awnings for our group's cooking and dining. Plenty of picnic tables at site and large fire ring with benches. Nice space for all our tents, and space from the neighboring campsite.

A few challenges with the site: you have to walk all your gear about 30 yards to the group site. Recommend wheels, carts to move large gear. No tent pads, your on the ground. Usually several spots already clear, but you may have to do a little ground clearing - for a favorite tent spot. Parking can get tight at the group tent site, so large groups may have to park at bathhouse.

That said, the Rangers and park staff are friendly and helpful. We have a pig smoker we bring in for a pig picking, and staff are helpful in getting us access to drive up to the site with the smoker. Great Fun with great group amenities!
