The vibe at the campground was a bit odd. Some people had taken over a handicap space and made it into a kind of permanent camp with tarps. And a few other sites gave off a weird, possibly druggy vibe. Our neighbors showed up at 6 AM saying how they’d had to move spaces as soon as the sun came up because a bunch of people had randomly come and set up camp in their site in the middle of the night. Additionally, the bathrooms were pretty terrible with 50% of the women’s toilets out of order.
All this being said, I’m still glad we camped here because it was beautiful and the weird vibe was not the dominant vibe. There were signs at the bathrooms that they’re closing down the grounds for a while to renovate, so hopefully the bathrooms will get better.
Overall would recommend.

I have stayed here multiple times on the way to Vegas and it has always been almost dead. I mostly decided to write this review because the last time I was there (just driving through to hit the river for an hour) we saw a sign that said free camping with national parks pass. I'm not sure if I had just read this wrong or if it is for the certain part of the campground. Nevertheless it is $8 without the parks pass for sure. The bathrooms are clean and the water appears to be free (just a spigot by the bathrooms). The wind can be FIERCE so beware of that. My girlfriend an I stopped here one June and were unable to set up our tent because the wind was so bad, we ended up just making the rest of the drive to Vegas. Overall one of my favorite places and I will always stop here to jump in the water if I'm in the area.

Great to get in the river in the heat but shallow in June. Walk down tyhe river south in the canyon is good but original path washed out. You need to cross the river several times and get wet feet up above ankles.
You do hear a bit of noise from the interstate depending where you camp.
lots of pull through spaces and tent pads. Note the tent pads tend to have car parking and pads close to each other.
Toilets clean and there is a water tap at the very top to fill RV tanks just under a shelter- not listed as available anywhere. About 200ft from the pay station on your way out.
Note if you go the other side (North) of the interstsate you can boondock for free!

Though this is very close to I-15, we could barely hear any traffic and the view of the gorge is beautiful. It is very hot here in the summer (early September), though we did have a little breeze. The bathrooms were adequately clean, with flush toilets, running water and A/C! Not a bad deal for $8.00.

We stayed here from oct 12 to oct 30 2016 and what a great place to relax and not worry about the real world. No cell no 4g no tv just the great views of the cliffs river and wildlife. We really enjoyed the rabbits and quail that were almost constantly around we didn't like the Chipmonks quite as much as they were very agressive but still entertaining. We have seen the other posts here and when we were there there was an onsite host and restrooms were cleaned and stocked 2 times a day. be careful with you awnings as winds come up quite fast and can be fierce. We rolled in as dusk and just grabbed the first spot we could find it we level with a table and fire ring. Water is avalible from many taps around the campground. We did make a few side trips to St George Ut for food and a trip to mesquite Nv for some fast food and to check messages. Zion NP isn't far but that time of year is so busy there we skipped the side trip there. We did see desert bighorn and Mule Deer on the hillside across the gorge and liked the river for a wade to cool of as there were a few days in the 90s. We are going to stop here again this fall.

A quick transit stop on our way from California to Utah. Beautiful views, easy access and clean. There was no onsite host....and restrooms were very clean (contrary to some of the prior reviews we read). Campground was full for the night. We stayed in the loop farthest from the freeway. We could still hear a little noise, but nothing terrible.
If we had been able to secure a spot right on the rim, probably would have stayed longer to enjoy some of the hiking.
We had suitable Verizon, but no TMobile service.
