We stayed here for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay. Sites and facilities were clean. 50 amp with water and sewer was nice too. Although 4 days into the trip we started losing power periodically from the grid which was not fun. We ended up having to disconnect overnight the last few days, so we didn’t have to hear the fridge resetting itself and waking us up. Power stayed pretty constant throughout the day but later in the evenings, overnight and in the mornings we’d lose power. Really close to the Smith River which was beautiful, cleaning rover in the entire world. Water clear as day. Check out the Battery Point Lighthouse and Trees of Mystery as well. Sweet spot. Would stay here again.

The short term camping area was pretty vacant. Our site was very unlevel for the camper and just to walk on. Not sure why we got that site when there were so many open and level sites available. Wi-Fi totally nonfunctional. Cellular good enough.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Check-in was you outside, staff inside behind a plastic window. Most of the park is for permanent or monthly renters. TIGHT turns for big rigs starting with the turn into the park especially coming from the west. Then another squeeze to turn into the camping area and another squeeze at the top of the hill. Obviously, this park was built long before the arrival of 40+ foot RVs. There are lots of trees and lots of redwoods. Which are very pretty although the vehicles get peppered with tree debris. The interior roads are paved as are the premium sites (although you have to drive through gravel to get to it). All other sites are gravel. Most of the sites also looked pretty level. Sites are near each other. Our site (47) had a bit more space as the DS was by the road, and PS side had big redwood trees. The sites are narrow but we managed to wedge ourselves in there. Each site has a rather dirty picnic table, and you are up close and personal with your neighbor (luckily, we knew ours!). WII FI didn’t work the first 2 days. They reset it, and it worked for a day and stopped. Verizon was 4g 2/3 bars so our hot spots worked most of the time. Satellite would not work in most sites, and there is no cable. Trash was emptied regularly which was nice. Our section backed up to Parkway Drive so there was lots of traffic noise during the day. It quieted down pretty well at night. Crescent City appears to be a depressed town – just a feeling. Every business, it seemed, was looking for help. Most restaurants had limited hours (or were not open at all) and were take out only. We only saw a couple with indoor seating. There are homeless but we didn’t see many camps. Lots of really old campers and vans and other unique vehicles. Just seems sad. However, the town is surrounded by beauty. Jedediah State park (oh those redwoods), Smith River (what a gorgeous color), the Pacific ocean and Battery Point lighthouse. Anyway, back to the RV park. It’s just fine for touring around the area for a few days. We saw many trees had been “hugged” by RVs so drive carefully.

We were relieved to arrive at our campground for the week after 2 months of hot weather. Village Camper Inn is away from the main part of town, and its very quiet, with its own bit of redwood forrest. The sites were fairly tight for this still learning RV'er but manageable. The services are set at the rear of the sites and were almost at the limit of our equipment. All of our connections are mid rig on the FW. All worked well though very close to our neighbors patio area. Be aware of that one cherry tree in July!!! I guess it was a good excuse to wash the rig anyway.
The Redwood Nat'l Park is 30 minutes south when Rt 101 is not being rebuilt from landslides. It was worth the little extra wait in traffic, and of course the ride along the coast is breathtaking. We were located just minutes from Crescent City and the harbor area. Walmart is very close buy the campground. There are a limited number of restaurants in town but the normal big chains are present. We recommend the local brewery in town called Sea Quake. They pour an excellent chocolate porter and their pizza is so good you'll forget about the price! Oh yeah, the mac and cheese ain't bad either.
Our site had cable but limited channels. Got a few OTA TV channels. Cell service had low bars but the speeds of both Verizon and Tmobile were fine for work and streaming.
We did enjoy our stay in Crescent City and would visit Village Camper Inn on our next trip thru.

Interesting site layouts, some big sites, some tight. Mine would not have worked with a slide, but since I don't have one... Probably why I got it! All connections at very back of the site, sewer just reached with an extension. Be prepared! Wifi useless, even at 7 am with a booster.
LOTS of animals. Cats roaming free, a rooster I could hear, lots of people with dogs, but all controlled.
Site way off level on left side for me :).

Although my visit was during the later part of the COVID-19 outbreak, my friend and I were still able to enjoy our time. The park is in an area that is wooded (it even has its own redwood trees), has fire rings, gravel sites, lots of shade, and is well kept.
One thing though, my toy hauler is 39’ long. The roads and corners were tight for it, but I got it through. Also make sure you have enough sewer hose, water hose, and electric cord as the hookups are towards the rear of the site (at least the sites here in the row where I am). My service bay and sewer connection are all towards the front. I had to use my extra pieces to reach it all. Good thing I had them!
I recommend this park for sure! We had neighbors on each side and never knew they were there.
