This is a campground attached to a park in the town limits so it’s residential surrounding the park area. But there are some hiking trails and the area seemed clean and safe and everyone was very friendly including the great host. The road up is not that bad if your in a smaller rv. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Mont... more

Very cute campground right in the middle of town. First come first serve. Sites are severely unlevel so have blocking. No campfires allowed. No service at the sites. Dump was open. Did not see any signs limiting length, but impossible to get any of the treed sites with a Class A. Typical AT&T service. Right in the middle of a populatio... more

Steep and curvy roads lead up to the top of a hill where the campground is located. While it is beautiful, there aren’t any sweeping views of the surrounding coastline unless you have a drone :) There is a trail that climbs even higher up the mountainside (Huckleberry Hill Trail) but while there are some breaks in the trees it doesn... more

Stayed here Oct. 28 to 30 as the maximum stay is 3 days; then you have to leave for a day before coming back for 3 days. No hookups at all. However water outlets available at several locations in campground. Washroom building has hot showers which are included in daily fee. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire-pit. Great place to camp when visiting the Monterey area. I stayed multiple times for 3 days at a time. The campground does fill up so arrive mid-morning to noon for your best chance. If you don’t want to deal with the hairpin turns coming up Jefferson, take hwy 1 to 68 west and come in that way. Sites are spaced closely and you’ll need to ... more

This is a comfortable campground but sticklers on everything. Myself and my guests were awaken by the camp attendant Bill multiple times during odd hours of the night over a minor issue that most definitely could’ve waited for daylight. Other than that our stay was fine. Campgrounds are clean but remember you are in Monterey so if you’... more
