Venture Out Resort at Cudjoe Cay

Our first time in the Keys and we had a blast. We were Ocean front and the view was awesome. We rented a pontoon boat for 3 days and I highly recommend that. Parked right at our sight. The people were super friendly and very helpful. Check in was a breeze. We DID like all of the rules as we do not want to be around disrespectful people and it was a very quiet. As I went through the booking all of the fees were listed even the gate charge which was mentioned 4 times. We have already booked for May after our grandson gets out of school.

This is a great “vacation” stay for a couple of full-timers! Our spot, 471, was right on the water with access to the canal and the channel. Sunrise every morning with coffee was awesome! There is space on the seawalll to dock a boat, but we just had a paddle board which was perfect for exploring the waters around us. We even saw a small shark!

The park has gated access that is manned 24 hours a day. Checking in was easy and quick. There is a little store with most things you’ll need. The swimming pool is well maintained and VERY warm. Yes, it is pricey, but the amenities were worth it and we will definitely come back here again! A note about the price we listed, the nightly rate is closer to $150, but there are some extra fees to consider including a booking fee and resort fee. We also added insurance in case COVID caused us to cancel. These fees were clear up front and not hidden at all, so we were fine with it.

Sprint and AT&T had excellent service. Verizon not so much. We were able to easily do work when needed while here vacationing.

First the nightly fee is not what you pay!!!! There are hidden fees that you don’t know about until you book and pay the nightly fee, then you get a contract that adds a booking fee of $75.00 and a gate fee of $107.50! Then you are bombarded with rules and regulations for pages and pages!!! If you have a pet you can bring them, but don’t expect them to be allowed anywhere in the park!!! If you want to walk them you must go from your site off the property!!!! If you are a pet lover do not go here!!! Then in our site all you heard day and night is the gate opening and closing! It was so obnoxious that I couldn’t wait to leave just to get a little peace & quiet!!!
