Sites are rock & clean with a fire pit & picnic table available. In addition to our jacks we had to placed boards under the rear tires as well as the rear jacks to get level.
Nice grass walking trail within the park that circles around Kimble Point. All roads within the park are paved & no issues getting to the park or around it.
Closest amenities, i.e. fuel, groceries, etc. are at least 30-60 minutes away.

Venango Park turned out to be everything the Campendium reviews claimed it to be. A very pretty park, close to a large body of water, with nice breezes and trees. Cell service was only two bars at Site B6, but fair enough to get things accomplished online. Our site was close to the lake and a narrow path down enables the heat-inflicted camper to cool off in water about two feet deep instead of driving over to the beach. We unfortunately were traveling through here during the heatwave attacking a large part of the country.
The one negative is the 6PM check-in and check-out which basically sucks if you are a traveler. It is understandable for the citizens in this area to desire late check-ins as they are coming in after work. They likely love the late check-outs too as there isn’t much else to do around these parts but work. Being able to spend the entire day before heading home for another week or day of work makes sense, but is very hard on people like us just traveling through. We intuited the potential problem with us getting here too early with the almost one hundred degree temperatures by taking our sweet time driving the two hundred and fifty miles from Tulsa we had scheduled for the day. But late afternoon driving is difficult when the driver is old and generally a morning person. Upon arrival the nice host told us the previous camper had already checked out but in case she was still there to park next door at B8 and hook our trailer up to power our A/C until they left at 6PM. Which is what we did, and the dawdling camper finally left promptly at 5:55PM. I was pretty much steaming by then, but it wasn’t the camper’s fault the rules are what they are.
Our site was private and clean. The toilets and showers were a bit of a walk away but were the same type as the last CoE campground, that being four separate outside locking rooms with complete private bathrooms inside.. Nice to have the toilet, sink, and shower all in one room. I generally check out the bathrooms before using them and the one I entered had the shower still on streaming water full-time. Likely uncaring kids or a dumb adult. They are prevalent these days. Water was available a few doors down which isn’t a prime situation if staying here for more days than your camper holding tanks have water for.

Well, at least in the off season. After this park shuts down in September, all sites are FREE (officially noted on their website). Just show up, and select your spot. There are however no amenities in the off season - no water, no electric and all bathhouses closed. The dump station was however open. So come prepared.
During the season, the sign indicated that dry camping spots are free during the week.. but even the electric/water sites were reasonably priced.
This campground is huge - several loops. During our stay in mid-October, we had B-loop all to ourselves and B20 was down it's own little road with a private beach. SCORE. But there are many water front and view sites. Sunsets are amazing here!
Some nice hiking trails and swim beaches to keep you busy.
And the best part? All cellular carriers have towers in view - so cellular internet here is screaming fast.

We were impressed by this park, and wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we will. This place had great views right on the lake and lots of space between sites. We almost had the place to ourselves. Nice hiking/nature trails. Water + Electric and a dump station on site. The only catch I could see is the length of most sites isn’t very long. We have a 25ft travel trailer and Ford F-150 and we were able to fit both in our back in spot. But there was a slope up on the site. I couldn’t see a big rig there. Such a nice alternative to a rv park or Koa if you’re passing through Kansas.

We stopped for a night on our way across Kansas. This park is a real gem. Like most Corp campgrounds this one is very well maintained and clean. We were there mid week in the middle of May we were one of very few campers.
We got a spot right on the shore and had a very quiet and peaceful night's sleep. The only thing that broke the silence was an airforce base. It was a ways off but occasionally a fighter jet would go over.
There are sites for all size rigs and most but not all have electricity. Some also have water so really check out what your site has. The sites close to the lake may be a challenge to level some rigs. The upper sites are just about dead level and spacious. I my rig was any larger, I would take one away from the lake.
We had a full 5 bars of 4g Verizon and speeds were very good. A full timer could do a lot worse than this place. All the roads are paved and the site driveways are gravel.
