We actually stayed there for 16 days in August which is the max allowed here. One of the most spacious boondocking areas we have been to that had pre designated campsites. Once you come in from Vendauwoo Glen Road from the I 80, it is a bumpy road but still ok and most sites, although spaced far apart, are not as spacious as if you instead come in from I 80 - US 210 Happy Jack Road exit at the Lincoln Summit View rest stop. This is closer to Laramie and makes trips to Walmart easier. There are over 65 designated camping sites in this dispersed area and all are marked.
Directions;
You come in from Laramie or Cheyenne on the I 80 and take the exit 323 for US-210, Happy Jack Road and take US 210 and go about 15 minutes to Vedauwoo Glen Road. Turn right on this dirt road and go over the cattle guard and you will find spots on the left after about 1/4 mile with one on the right by the wood fence at the hill. Lots of spots off these roads including Hirsig Road off Vedauwoo Glen Road. If you want …..continue without turning on Vedauwoo Glen to make a left on 700-O in about another mile and there are several very isolated sites off 700-O road. If you stay on Vedauwoo Glen Road, you will get to the more numerous spots but they are not as secluded and you will eventually loop back to the end of Vedauwoo Road by the USFS paid campground and be at I 80 exit 329.
Got free water at the Exit 323 US 210 rest stop at the Lincoln Monument and also dumped trash there. Walmart Supercenter is about 28 minutes from the campsite via US210.
Cows in the fields and cowboys at time but none on our side of the fence. Weekdays are best but even then a lot of sites are taken during the summer month. Another reason to enter from Happy Jack Road..US210. Dump station at Mavericks off the I 80 Exit 313,Everyone comes in from by the USFS campground and this is also where the climbers come in to rock climb so most of the sites (lower number)in the beginning are taken quickly
Went to shoot the meteor shower in August and wound up capturing an unexpected strong solar storm which gave us the Northern Lights that night…. check out the photos!
Cell service really weak even with a booster and fails during peak periods. Might be better closer to I80 side.

Walked thru the campground, which is nice, but sites are too small for our 45 foot fifth wheel.

Elevation is high enough we were comfortable in Aug.

Great location! Close enough to the highway for convenience, but enough distance to keep the noise down. I came in pretty late, still lots of sites available.

I arrived around noon on a Friday and a lot of the spots were already taken. The road to your spot is pretty bumpy. All of the camp sites are flat and the ones on the left are against this beautiful river. It was fairly quiet with some day traffic but nothing after sunset. I would absolutely make the drive to come here again.

Quite, so much space between all the dispersed sights. Beautiful views. Had to go a ways down the dirt road to find an open spot but well worth it.

Flat, roomy, clean, great views! Was very quiet at night, some traffic during the day but rare at night. One of our new favorite places to camp!

“Closed For Areal Herbicide Spraying Till 5/21/24”
noted 5/12/2024
Knew the campground would be closed -
Was hoping for dispersed spot. Alas, a big sign says closed for areal herbicide spraying till 5/21 with roads blocked off.
noted 4/2/2024
The road was closed 3/31/24. Not sure when it opens, but the app didn't mention anything. Really wish the app would show more information - I drove all the way out there and had to turn around.
