We stayed here for two night to see an Alabama game. We had been concerned before booking because all the other campgrounds or RV parks nearby were fully booked or hundreds of dollars. We did a quick post on Reddit and got good feedback so we gave it a try and would absolutely stay again for a game. The rangers drive through regularly and the gate is closed at night (but still accessible for campers). There is a small airport nearby but it’s private planes and the noise wasn’t an issue at all for us. It wasn’t busy even for a big game and I imagine on non game days you could have the camp ground nearly to yourself. There is a lot of day use with people walks their dogs on the trails, some drivers weren’t great about their speed and kicked up a little dust, but that’s literally the only negative I can think of.
Black Betty would stay here again

Can hear planes occasionally. Most sites level except 8 and 9. Thankfully no one was in the site across from us so we could easily maneuver our 40 ft RV into our spot. Only one other RV for the night. Only water h/u and porta potty. RV sites are just inside gate 1.
debwitt would stay here again

“Cool Hidden Gem”

Such a cool hidden gem in Northport! Great trail along marshy lands. Some really cool camping available, but some spots are far better than others. Would recommend scouting it out before booking. We also saw a huge snake so beware

Nice big level spots for all but 2 of the sites.
We were the only RV there for 2 of the nights which caused us some concern as there was a lot of vehicle traffic in the park but not a lot of park use. After the park closed, there was still a lot of traffic in the park but again not a lot of use of the facilities so this made us uncomfortable and we were going to leave on the last night but decided to stay after another RV came in.
The park ranger was nice but didn't sound too concerned after we told him about the park use.
All in all a nice park but it needs to be monitored more closely.
