Valmy Rest Area

Dump site was clean, easy to access. There is no potable water, but there is water to clean your black tank.

There was dried poop and toilet paper everywhere. There was no hole cover and the water didn’t work. Highly recommend not going here. The smell was terrible and the area was really gross.

Stopped for the night. Clean relatively quiet with the trucks running their engine all night. If you pull into the right side there is a gravel spot that works. An RV was their already and they had their chairs out.

We give this a 4 understanding that this is a rest stop. It was lightly populated when we arrived. We were able to find a quiet enough spot to set up for cooking dinner outside and exercise the dog. The sunset/sunrise here is also quite good. Yes there were trucks and other RV’ers. But for the price it’s hard to beat this type of stop... more

Stopped on our way across Nevada, next rest stop at Beowawe is closed. Good for sleeping, picnic area.

These NV rest stops are larger and actually better than those on the west coast

Plenty of spaces, green lawns 😳 (what a waste of water), a dump station and flush toilets

What more does one need for a overnight free stopover ?

My husband was exhausted. Long drive through mountains from Lake Tahoe. Valmy location is closed (for quite some time due to no public funding).
