“Beautiful views and perfect weather”

Valley of Fire is a hidden gem. Beautiful area with hiking, camping and a great visitor center. There are 2 campgrounds tucked between the red sandstone hills with 72 spaces. They have around 15-20 RV sites with power and water at the Atlatl campground. From what we could see, it looked like the non-electric sites all had a water sp... more

“Put Valley of Fire on your list! This is how campgrounds should be.”

Reviewed May 14, 2019

We’ve heard such great things about Valley of Fire that we’ve been trying for several years to make here. You know how sometimes when your expectations are high, the reality is disappointing – that did not happen here! We LOVED it! We stayed at Atlatl Campground and I wish the people designing campgrounds would take notes, this is how ... more

Stayed at the Atlatl campground beginning of May and opted for W/E due to a few HOT days. First come first serve sites. We arrived on a Sunday about 10:30 and found a handful of sites available in “RV only” loop and a few others with just water. Originally chose another site close to the rocks but no cell so moved “down” to the more op... more

“Stunning views, and a little busy”

This is a beautiful campground near Lake Mead. We stayed in the W/E sites for $10 per night. (We purchased the NV all access annual pass for $200, other wise it would have been $30 a night). Access to the campground is all blacktop roads no matter which way you come in. Campground is all gravel except for the handicapped sites have... more

“Beautiful campground!”

There are two campgrounds in Valley of Fire: Atlatl with showers, modern bathrooms, and RV hookups but we decided on Arch Rock. Only vault toilets but the 29 campsites are tucked in among the red rocks more so than at Atlatl. Some are more private than others (22-24 are the best in my opinion). We ended up at 27 which had a nice seclud... more

“Well maintained campground in the heart of red rocks”

Reviewed Apr 05, 2019

Overall Rating

We stayed in the RV section of this relatively small campground (Atlatl) nestled among the red rocks, so we had water and electric hookups, and it was a perfect base for exploring the surrounding state park. With gorgeous red rock views from every campsite, sightings of bighorn sheep in the rocks surrounding the campground, and even a ... more

We were assured campsites at either of the two campgrounds inside the park. After 15 minutes of searching and discovering it very full, we returned to the entrance kiosk to learn we couldn't get a refund! The kiosk attendant does not have a way of knowing whether people paying the $10 entry fee are going to claim a campsite. Pretty b... more

“Beautiful, well-maintained campground”

Reviewed Mar 16, 2019

Overall Rating

Valley of Fire’s Atlatl campground is in a beautiful setting with well-maintained and clean facilities. It can be chilly in the winter; when I stayed (Feb) it was in the low 30’s at night. $20/night for tent camping, $30 for RV. You may even see and hear big horn sheep herds rock scrambling outside your tent as I did.

“Wonderful!”

Reviewed Jan 18, 2019

Overall Rating

Great sites, great views. There is room for two RVs in each site at the RV only area which worked out great because we camped with friends. Site was fairly level and had a nice rock formation for the kids to climb on. The park in general is beautiful, well taken care of and great staff. This is my absolute favorite place near Las Vegas.
