Love this beautiful lil campground. Very clean with water and flushing clean toilets. Very well kept with spacious campites. The park host was so wonderful and sweet. This campground its very quiet and we loved that. There’s no party campers here. Lots of trail, lots of cacti 🌵 Can’t wait to come back for longer stay.

This is in Anza Borrego State Park and not far from Little Blair Valley. We boondocked a bit south of here but rode our bikes to check it out. It's a nice campground and if we couldn't find a boondocking site we like (shh on S-2 check out between mile marker 37 and 38) we'd see if we could stay here. Little Blair Valley has a lot of... more

Little Blair Valley has a lot of dust in the air and isn't that great since we don't have four wheel drive.

Stayed here 11/15-17. Initially we wanted to stay at Agua Caliente but it was full. Vallecito is only 4-5 mi away. We drove over there and payed for day use to soak in the hot pools. When we saw how crowded the campsites were there, we were glad we were staying at Vallecito! Here we had peace and quiet, the campground host was very friendly, we had cell service too. The only downside were the flies. There is a swamp in the area. I recommend bringing a screen tent.

It’s a clean well kept campground with easy access for all styles of camping or RVs. The host is very accommodating and let us choose our site before paying. Plenty of water spigots, each site has a picnic table and fire ring, the bathrooms are clean with showers. It does not seem to be as popular as some other camping spots in the area. There are not many hiking trails nearby, so this campground would be good as a base camp to explore the area with your car or as a spot to relax and take in the desert. Some sites are fairly close to the road.

The campground is rarely crowded. There are hiking trails from the park, and close to other canyons, trails, and mud caves.
Agua Caliente County Park is 4 miles down the road.
Pay the day use fee there and have use of the pools and hot spring fed spa, then come back to the serenity of Vallecito.
Excellent cell coverage if you have Verizon or ATT.
Best time to visit is Thanksgiving-Easter.
Annoying black flys in the Fall, nothing seems to discourage them.
Winds can be strong, but only when a front is moving through the county.
Bring drinking water. Water there is from a well, no filter and no chlorination. OK to wash things, and is safe to drink, as it’s tested regularly, but is very high in minerals.
Bring your telescope and camera.
