We found on our site, site 66, for our 40’ diesel motorhome, we had to drive the rear tires on our blocks otherwise the level jacks borough one side of the rear axle off the ground.
But the site is wide, packed gravel and spread out from neighbor. If if rains it doesn’t get muddy.
We tried the showers. Push button so the water only stays on about 20 seconds then you push it again. Trouble is the water never gets hot, just like warm. Showers in the building are separate from the toilet facilities.
There is a gun range nearby but the noise isn’t that bad. I suppose if the wind comes from that direction it could be a little louder.
Lots of doves, quail and hummingbirds in January when we were here. Heard coyotes at night. Nights are quiet.

So you eat breakfast to gunfire then dinner to gunfire and if you turn in early, to bed with gunfire.
This is not a sound you can mistake, it is close enough, you would have to be deaf not to hear it. I can’t believe Maricopa County approved of such a facility next to such a beautiful park.
As nice as it is I won’t be staying anymore.
On a side note, the visitor center is severely lacking in any serious. amount of books and other items for purchase, the store is 2/3 empty. Needs some serious attention for displays/information/merchandise.

Stayed here for a couple weeks. I gave it five stars overall even though there were a couple issues, because overall it really is a great park. The views are nice, the sites are well spaced out, there's plenty of hiking options right from the park, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. I work full time from my RV and it worked just fine for that - good cell coverage, fairly quiet, etc. The only complaints I have are that the sites aren't very level and it was really difficult for us to get into and out of our site, with the way they have the concrete blocks situated. Maybe not so bad for super experienced RVers, but not so great for a newbie with a 38' fifth wheel. I saw lots of people that were super unlevel or with makeshift solutions to try to level themselves. Other than that, there's a gun range right next to the park, so you start hearing nonstop gunfire from around 7am until sunset, which isn't the most pleasant thing in the world. But still, I really liked this park and I would go back despite these shortcomings.

Not much more to say but wow. Back in sites are spectacular with great privacy and super unique landscape.
Trails are well kept. Facilities are clean. People are friendly.
You really feel one with the Saguaro at this regional park.
Bonus that you are close to town for any necessities.

The host came around 4 times before we checked out to make sure we were headed out. We pulled out right on time, and probably would’ve been out sooner if he hadn’t been bothering us all morning. It was very busy for being November. Nice showers, but only a single shower within each bathroom facility throughout the park.

Stayed here for almost 2 weeks in late April into early May and this place was worth the price for the electricity alone. We had to have a/c to survive down here this time of year.
Great location to explore the Salt River, which we highly recommend paddle boarding or canoeing down, mid week to avoid all the tubers. We saw many of the wild horses that call this area home.
Mesa is very close by for groceries, restaurants, and entertainment.
Our only negative was that the camp hosts terms ended during our stay and you could definitely feel their absence. Once they left, the bathrooms were not very clean, the garbage bins near the bathhouses were completely full and overflowing for several days.
This time of year the campground was not very busy which was nice to see the wildlife uninterrupted. A coyote strolled nearby our spot almost every morning heading back to his den from a night of hunting. Cardinals, hummingbirds, and quail entertained us daily.

I felt super exposed in this pull through site and the vibe just wasn't there. As some people have mentioned, there is a gun range nearby, so I'm a full-time remote worker so I'm at my campsite all day hearing gun shots....not the most relaxing.
It is, however, really convenient if you need to run errands in a city. There is basically anything you can imagine nearby within 20 minutes or so. Overall, just being honest, I probably wouldn't stay here again....not when Lost Dutchman State Park is so close which I'll also leave a review on, but I'd pick it over this one every day.

Great location for the area and to anything Usery Mtn of course! Call the park directly, not the campground reservations line to check availability of overflow spots - prices have to be paid for recurring nights by 9am.
